Well, I have found a dress I have fallen in love with, just now have to wait 4 months to try it on and see if it suits me or I need to start the search again!

Yes we will most likely do that. Whatever we get money wise as gifts for the wedding will go straight into the Japan fund!

    Beautiful dress by the way!

    Thank you!

I found giving notice a bit scarey! It was like an interview to get into the country or something lol x

All this talk of giving notice had prompted me to make an appointment for us. We are doing it on 28th October. Which means we really have to book a time for the legal ceremony! For those of you who don't know, we are doing the legal bit the day before with minimal fuss. The 'real' wedding ceremony will be performed by a humanist celebrant. I'm so excited to start discussions with her about what to include in the ceremony, as its not legally recognised, literally anything goes!

Hello April brides - I'm part of the club too with 11 April being our big day.

We've booked our venue, the registrar, the photographer, the honeymoon and I've found the perfect dress. DD is my bridesmaid and her dress is a little tricky as she's soon to be 13 but very tiny being able to fit into age 7/8 clothing - the problem being that the bridesmaids dresses that fit her aren't age appropriate. We have decided not to panic but to buy a party dress instead as I'm sure there will be loads around in the run up to Christmas.

There will be 10 guests and us - the perfect day and I can't wait...

(now all we need to do is find a house that will fit all of us and not get gazumped again.....!!!)

i need rings, suits, honeymoon, alcohol, chair hire for ceremony, dress alterations, veil, shoes, underwear.....and probably a lot more that I keep forgetting!

But I'm speaking with my old flatmate tonight about invitations - she's a graphic designer so that's exciting Smiley smile

Congratulations to those who are at the 6 month and under mark, we will all be there soon! We gave notice today, I was soooo nervous but it really isn't that bad. We were all giddy when we came out and felt totally loved up (which really isn't us!)

Mrs-s-to-be I would say if you haven't found anyone you want to commit to then maybe you haven't found the right people. Hopefully you will soon

    Funny story--

We have to pay 50% of the balance to our venue next week (6 months to go mark!) and I had a missed call from them earlier so thought it would be something to do with that and tried to ring them back, no answer so was going to ring tomorrow.

About half an hour later there was a knock on the door, answered it and next door neighbour's live in partner was stood on the doorstep. We don't know him terribly well but it turns out he's one of the wedding planners at our venue and after he couldn't gt through on the phone happened to look at our address and realise we live next door to each other! So he popped round to let me know about some things they've got going on like a wedding fair coming up soon and a 'Wedding Clinic' with some of their suppliers.

Small world and brilliant customer service!

    Hi!

Our date is 11th April 2015. Venue & registrar was booked 5 days ago and in that time I have booked tog, bought dress (2nd hand so I actually have it!) & veil, bought BM dresses, and met with caterers.

It is a pretty DIY venue so lots to do. I'm planning on doing lots of my own flowers. What are people thinking for April flowers?

Yes, hope you're OK charlinc. I'm not even sure how to go about taking over a thread? To be honest I don't think it needs much in the way of 'maintenance,' just adding new brides to the list. They can still post and join in the chat.

Also hoping you are ok x

I'm not sure if we can take over the initial post, I assume the original poster is the only one who can edit it to add more brides dates. Hmmm could we put all the dates in a new reply?

Only just caught up with this - sorry ladies. Hope you're OK Charlinc. Like t'others have said not sure we can change the first post but we can I guess keep an eye on anyone new wanting a date adding etc and just do it as a quote. So sorry you can't go on - I do hope you're OK and thank you for setting this thread up and running it up to now. xx.

6 month stage is such a milestone and the clock really starts racing now. I feel the wedding occupies my every waking moment oops. I made my wedding day Bath Robes yesterday - ie ironed on the sparkly Bride, MoH and BM transfers onto the robes. Now they're folded away until April Smiley smile. I got the transfers from Voodoo Vogue - great price, service and quality. Have stuck really really well!

    http://voodoovogue.co.uk/

Next job is to do the bags. Also building my collection of glass bottles and jars, plus lace and ribbons and can't wait to getr decorating them. Then I want to do the BM bouquets. Poss start mine again too, and I need to finish the buttonholes and my tiara. Then OH needs his suit, shirts for all the boys. Wait for my dress to come in and get altered and alter the BM dresses. Buy all the candles that I need and the rest of the table flowers - after that I don't really care lol xx

Hi all! Just thought I would update you on the chemo! Thankfully it's going well and I haven't had many side effects, other than all my hair falling out which is gutting cosiI'd been growing it for a year! My dress came in last week though and it is gorgeous so that cheered me up no end! Cancer is responding really well to treatment so should only need a little operation after Christmas and be cancer free by the wedding! I'm so glad I've got this to look forward to
