Expensiveorange- we still haven't booked anything for immediately after the wedding, will most likely be a couple of nights in the lakes or similar. I'd love to go to Oman, some friends of ours honeymooned their. Our plan is to go to Japan for 2 weeks for our first anniversary, and we are treating that as our proper honeymoon.

Aprilbride- yes January will no doubt be very busy for us too. We must get OH and ushers' suits sorted and there are so many other little bits to do like making decorations, getting dress altered and buying thank you gifts. That reminds me, I have just booked a boudoir shoot for the end of January, excited but scared!

I'm sorry to say that I'm off work today as I gave myself a migraine by stressing too much. This is a combination of work, my mums health issues, Christmas and wedding. My head is done in. I was really upset last night as I managed to catch up with my chief BM who I haven't spoken to in weeks as she lives 150 miles or so from me and she didn't once mention the wedding or hen do which she is supposed to be organising and is currently non existent. Feel like no one, even my OH, gets excited or even slightly interested in the wedding and just feel completely alone in planning at the moment. I really need to pull myself together. Anyone else the same?

Thanks ickle Sal. I am feeling a bit better than this morning actually. I've ordered a couple more Christmas gifts online so feeling slightly more organised in that respect, and I also went through our wedding to do list and assigned jobs to different months so it all seems a bit more manageable. I also spoke to my chief bridesmaid on the phone again and she has revealed that she is thinking about booking some accommodation for the hen, in Liverpool! I'm very excited now, just wish she had organised sooner as I have a feeling some of my guests may not be able cough up the £150 what with it being so close to Christmas :-/

What is everyone else doing for their hen parties?

4 months today for me!! I'm going to write my wedding invites this weekend and get them posted off at the latest by Monday.

I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by how much I have to do (all the niggly bits I can't really do until nearer the time!) but I don't feel too stressed. I thought I would be feeling more overwhelmed but I'm ok although I'll feel much better when my mum and I finally get this 100 metres of b****y bunting finished!!!

What have you all found the most stressful part? I ordered my invites with a spelling mistake, thankfully they were cheap but it was another £80 I could have done without spending!!

    Hello April brides!

Ahh Barnett 2015 poor you with the invitations!! I was dreading that and got about 4 people to proof read - that was just for the wording print outs, I am still in the middle of making the invitiations which is stressful, it has taken me so many hours and so much to do, and now Christmas.

I found the guest list stressful, and choosing the venue and style/ size of wedding. I was so overwhelmed after getting engaged we didn't book anything for over 6 months! Where did you get your fabric for the bunting if you don't mind me asking? That is a job for my mum after Christmas.

    Hi.

I'm getting married on the 11th. Nice to be able to read what other people are up to!

I feel like we still have a lot to do but my fiancé seems to think it will all just come together!

We've got the venue, flower girl dresses and my dress sorted but the rest is still floating around, think we will have a busy Christmas!

Will wait until Jan/Feb to get the adult bridesmaid dresses as we need to shop high street and everything is Christmassy at the mo.

    Good luck everyone!!

    Nicola

Try not to take it to heart. We made a website because we find it old fashioned and unnecessary to put all information in the invitation with lots of printed inserts. Turns out we were wrong. Loads of guests have not even read our invitations properly let alone been on our website. A few have made reference to the fact there isn't much info on our invitations and have asked about accommodation etc. Erm hello, our invitation clearly states 'for more info please visit <web address>' People are just lazy sometimes!

Totally agree about people not reading stuff properly! My invites are simple, double sided A5 card. All the info there but haven't done anything about accomodation and we aren't having a choice menu but a BBQ.
BUT already I've had a 'there's not even an address on here...' Comment to which I had to point out that if the person turned it I've they would find it all there....
    CRUMBS.

Almost all my invites have gone out now. Eek!

So I'm under 4 months to go and im having a bit of a panic about it all. I have no idea how it's going to get all sorted. Everything is booked but its the decor and music and invites that are worrying me.

also, we gave notice earlier in the year. We have our marriage licences, what do I do with them? Does anyone know? Do I send them to the registry office? We are having a civil ceremony. See, I'm freaking out man!!!! Get me vodka!!!

Lam I alone in my freaking out-ness?

Aaw icklesal....chill and breathe. You give the marriage licence to the registry office who will be marrying you. Ours were sent direct Smiley smile as for everything else there's such a lot it can seem overwhelming. I'm quite calm atm prob coz of other stuff on my mind, but I'm doing bits here and there and I know I'll have a mad panic in the new year. But it'll be fine I'm sure lol. Xxx

Oh Pammy, I've just seen your other post. I don't spend much time over on o.t. I'm so sorry you have been thru that. Thinking of you all.

i will have to post our licences I think.

MrsBW deeps breaths! Get that essay done and dusted then it's one less to think about! We were sent our licences 15 days after we gave notice but maybe like Pammy yours have been sent direct.

Don't worry icklesal, we all have meltdowns, mine was Monday last week. Threw a massive paddy because I was stressed about wedding, Christmas, my mum and work. It was all getting too much. Hopefully you feel better now? We are giving notice on Monday, I wouldn't say I'm looking forward to it as its just a legality but will be glad to tick something else off the list.

I'm feeling much better now, thank you. I think having a meltdown helps me, I know that sounds daft but I gotta realise the emotions!

I was so nervous giving notice but there's nothing to it.

I keep having mini panics about stupid things like card box signs, printing the menus off, how the tables will look etc. Anyone got any flashes you can inspire with or are we keeping things secret? What are your dresses all like?

Not long until it is THIS year. I can't really believe it, i almost feel like it isn't really happening! Am i really getting married!?!? ?

It's definitely got to that point now, with less than 4 months to go! My invites are all out and all returned bar a few odd ones who I don't think are coming! I also ordered my signs for the photo booth, sweet cart, sparklers, guestbook and easels for them to stand on. Am going to start getting my favours, I am doing Agatha Christie books for everyone so need to start buying them up second hand, then going to stamp them and wrap in a yellow ribbon to match my theme!

Then need to buy confetti, bubbles, sparklers.....

We're in regular touch with the vicar but need to meet to do all the orders of service etc and fiance needs to get his suits.... Then I think I'm done?! Other than paying for everything.... Just started looking at what needs paying when..... Not much longer to save now!

Wow I love the sound of your favours, I'm sure your guests will really appreciate the effort that goes into those. We are just doing a sweet pick and mix table as favours.

Well my progress is we gave notice today (see separate thread to see why I wasn't thrilled by the experience).

Definitely feeling like the wedding is getting close now! I also have my hair and makeup trial on the 10th Jan.

It's 3 months today until my wedding! Argh! I am seriously stressing out thinking that I've forgotten something!

I had the operation to remove the last of my breast cancer on new years Eve so I am still off work recuperating (having a lump of boob and under arm lymph nodes removed stings for future reference!) I go back two in Feb and I think that the time left is going to go so fast! Is anyone else feeling the pressure?

VB I don't know how you do it. I don't think any pressure I feel cam compare with what you're juggling. I'm convince I'll forget something, but until in know what I've forgotten I won't know lol.

Wishing you all the best for your treatment, I'm sure everyone will think your wedding is perfect even if you do forget something, just as long as you don't forget your getting married in 6th April that is lol. X

Hello and happy late new year everyone!

I posted a little while ago about the many many things I have left to do! 3 months and 4 days to go.... I am going to be so freaked out when it is less than 3 months.

Victoriahbell wow, I am full of admiration for you. I had to have 2 small operations in December which really got me down as I couldn't move around much or do much really but I don't think it was anything compared to what you have been through.

So over the next week or so we are giving notice, I am meeting with a florist (finally!), going to buy rings, OH is hopefully going to buy my suit and I have an appointment with a dressmaker to look at altering my 2nd hand bargain dress. Busy times! Also I am finishing up the invitations and sending them out - they have an RSVP on of 15th Feb so better get a move of. How is everyone doing with their guestlists, have you all got your invites out and RSVPs back?

    Victoria you're an incredible woman!

I met our tog last night and we spoke for 2 hours...I think I'm in love! More excited about getting the photos back than anything else! Honeymoon also booked now! Travelling up Vietnam which is so exciting!

I have to meet the venue coordinator, the band and have a hair trial in the next couple of weeks, and need to book make up trial.

Invites have gone out/are going out (my parents are insisting on hand delivering a lot of them but should be done by the end of the week) and RSVP date is 4th Feb. Getting them back in the post has been the most exciting part of the wedding planning so far!

I feel like I have hundreds of little things to be prepared, but not sure exactly what they are!

I too applaud you victoriahbell! I've been worrying enough without all that to contend with!

Been off here for a while with Christmas and desperately trying to get invitations finished. They ARE going out this weekend if it kills me! Someone remind me why I decided not to get them professionally done?!

Ordered the bouquets, buttonholes and corsages and had a cake tasting which resulted in that being ordered too! Yay! Can't believe how quickly the date is creeping up! So excited, but terrified at how much I still have to do. Managing to keep a calm(ish) exterior though.

Lovely to hear how others plans are coming together.

    Not long now ladies!
