April Brides!!! We're in April!!!! Aghhh!!

rebecca2286, 1 April, 2011 at 08:53 Posted on Planning 0 25

How is everyone doing?? Hope you're all nearly there, obviously I'm one of the later april brides (where's Willywales, wonder how he's doing as my date twin?!)

I've still got.....

table plan to make

Girls jewellery to make

fathers gifts to buy

BM's and BM's gifts to buy

Break in my shoes

Get highlights done

Book waxing

Buy new swimming costume

Oh, and minor issue.....CB's dress doesnt fit...too small....she's on a diet so hopefully she'll lose some! Stress much?!

They're all little things, but I'm also out of the country for work for 8 days this month (tried to get out of it....not possible! doh!!)!

I had my first fitting yesterday! My dress is AMAZING!! Im so pleased with it, it looks gorgeous!!! Not only that, but it needs taking in by 2 inches!!! I've lost 2 inches with my weightwatchers and buying the horse!! Ok so buying the horse may have been a little extreme! lol! Cant wait to see it taken in as it'll make me look soooo skinny!! yey!!!

Hows everyone else doing?? Where's my South Farm twin too? Day after me I think!!

xxxx

I have a list of over 20 things still to do! They are mainly little niggly things though like making some name bunting - if we dont make it, no matter! Got all the big stuff done though.

Tonights decision is what to play as we all leave the ceremony. Choices so far are

a)Bedouin Soundclash - When the night
    b)Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition
    c)Beach Boys - Good Vibrations

    Choices, choices, choices!!

Do you have a song to leave church to? We were only told to make cd of 3 songs for signing of register? Presumed just the usual wedding entrance/exit songs were played by organist who we'v had to pay for?

We're having the traditional entrance and exit music, but different for signing the register. Dont know how it works in a church, sorry!!

I think every venue is different. We're not church going folk so no organist for us. We are having our own CD of music that will be played. So far its Muse - Feeling Good for the entrance, Elbow - One day like this for the signing of the register and just need to decide our leaving song Smiley smile

I always wanted a nice piece of music for church but after going to a wedding there, it sounded a bit naff as the old lady in charge was struggling with the stop start and forward buttons haha bless her. And it would make me cry which i really dont want to do (the emotional music not the old lady!) and my eyelashes would fall off ?

HAHAHA!!!!!? Top tip....dont wear fake eyelashes....cry as much as you like!! lol!

Cant you get someone who knows about these things to control the music? Like a teenage boy? If you dont have any going, pull one in from the street!?

We get married 2 weeks tomorrow (16th) and i can't believe how quick its coming round now.

We're really organised, only things left to do now are: dropping things off at venues the day before (cd's, table decorations, overnight case at hotel, name place cards, etc), paying dj/disco on the night, paying for flowers on arrival on day, paying for ceremony on day, pick up suits 2 days before and then attending hair appts, nail appt, getting eyebrows waxed, having a massage, h2b is having his stag do tomorrow night (my hen night was last sat). Everything else is done and dusted now. Only just this last week paid balances & confirmed things with venues (having meal at a hotel, then evening reception with disco & buffet at a different venue), arranged music ideas/1st dance with dj, took booklet & cd into town hall for civil ceremony and such like.

Starting to feel real now, just want it to happen right now & get on with it though!!

I now have less than 2 weeks to go! I'm surprisingly on top of things though (I think anyway!!) I bought shoes this week to wear when my heels start to hurt!

Best part being that they didn't cost me anything as I had £20 vouchers to spend in House of Fraser! They are really comfortable! Tomorrow I am spraying the 'postbox' silver and have to stick the thank you for your cards plaque on to it. And, I plan to finish the table plan finally after having a guest pull out and my BILs girlfriend accepting the invite (she just had a baby 3 weeks early so was expecting to be in labour during the wedding week!) I also discovered today that my OH hadn't hired cufflinks with the suits so I'm looking out for cheap silver ones- any suggestions would be welcome! Picking my dress up on Wednesday- it doesn't fit my bust and as it has been taken in 2 sizes alredy, I have no choice but to try and create the illusion of boobs! Have to go fillet or bra shopping too!

Hope you are all very excited!!! I just hope this weather lasts out all month for us!!

Hey! Here's one of South Farm twins (24th)! I have only got 3 weeks left and still lots to organise!

Well done on your weight loss! I'm just trying to tone up my arms and upper back to avoid any lumps hanging over my strapless dress!

    Still to do:

    Finish off the table plan

Buy presents for parents & Best Man

    get pampered(haircut, nails, pedicure)

make up trial 4 days before the wedding

3-4 trips to sunbed (I dont like fake tan and dont really agree with sunbeds, but just dont want to look too pale)

buy some holiday outfits and new bikini

All the best for the planning, not long now!!

Hello everyone, and special hellos to my venue twins Rebecca2286 and Snowboardgirl82!

So glad everyone's getting on so well, we're all on the small stuff now!

    I still have to do....

    Decide on seating plan

    Actually make the plan/place settings

Buy presents for family and BM

    Write speech

Make CDs for ceremony music and reception meal

    Buy and practise with makeup

And I think that's it! Fingers crossed that the weather stays warm and spring-like through April!

Hello! I'm right at the end of April (30th) but so excited now we're in the wedding month!

We met our tog on Saturday and he was great, has even chucked in a lovely freebie - pre-wedding shoot and big framed pic for us to display at the reception for signing by guests. Yay! We're finalising details with venue this week, and just dealing with the little details - presents, table card holders etc. I'm struggling to focus on work during the day - just too excited ?

Thanks for reminding me about CD's, I have to ask my OH to get them sorted asap. I think you can use iPod for the wedding reception music too? Not sure, I better put that down as a "question".

I'm now getting worried about the trivial things! I got very annoyed few days ago when I realised that we may not see the fruit trees in blossom on our wedding day due to super early spring this year! Unfortunately there'snt much I could do about it!

I've just finished with table stationery, Rebecca and Sarah, are you doing Menu cards to display on the table?

Rebecca, I dont think they're too important. I asked SF and they said most of people dont bother with them. But then again, we went to the wedding just recently and when the main meal arrived to the table I had no idea what sort of meat I was eating until I tasted it. Maybe would be nice to know what to expect? I havent made them either but now I'm thinking that maybe I will...
