Are there any 2015 brides?

And me, going to see the venue tomorrow, if it is as nice as it looks in the brochures we are booking it for Halloween 2015. Seems a very long way off though.

Have you done much? We've booked the venue, church and photographer and now we're stuck for a while

Venue was lovely and have booked it for our date, thats the only thing we have done so far. Not having a Halloween themed wedding apart from autumn colours , real fires, probably pumpkin soup and pumpkins lanterns. Want it warm and cosy.

It does seem an absolute age away BUT we are already fast approaching August - it will be 2 years to go in no time !! Then one year....then!!!!!!

Wow, to think when I got married we did it all in 3 months! The time will go quickly though, but you have plenty of opportunities to find the perfect venue and sort out all the particulars.

It feels like forever away, but as has been said i'm sure it'll fly by.

Both myself and my partner work in the wedding industry so get booked up for our services a good year or so in advance. So we could secure the date we wanted and enough time off afterwards/before (for honeymoon etc) we had to opt for 2015 where the calendar was clear! Very much enjoying the idea of the extra time to save and research before having to book anything though

I'm surprised you've both been able to book anything, the majority of suppliers i've contacted haven't even had the decency to reply once the date is mentioned

I was really lucky as have managed to secure a few prices - where are you planning on getting married and reception venue? I'm quite near Upminster (reason for my curiosity!)

At the moment we're looking at Sussex for wedding and reception.

Which makes things a little more difficult as if we were going ahead with things in Essex we'd be spoilt for choice. Atleast there's time to do the research.

Do you have your venues planned/booked as yet?

Yes we are at Crondon Park I'm a bit OCD so i've booked up as much as i can already lol

I feel the same! I'd have it all done and dusted if it were up to me, but partner thinks i'm mad and wont have any of it(if he had his way he'd be trying to arrange everything the weekend before!)

Aside from which, only 2 of the 20+ suppliers i've contacted in the last 2 weeks have bothered to even get back to me ☹️

Would you mind sharing any of the suppliers you've managed to book with, I might have a bit more luck knowing they're happy to take bookings

To be honest we've only booked venue, church and photographer. We are going to an open day on 15th September to meet the DJ, chair cover lady, harpist etc etc to get us booked in with them

How are we getting on? Any further additions?

Another 2015 bride here!...I am getting married 28th May 2015, booked our date yesterday I think it will fly by though as waited 7 months for the venue's open day to be here and that time seems to have passed in a flash! Excited

Congratulations!! I know what you mean we're having our enagement party next week. At the time of booking it I thought "three months away seems ages" and its next week!!!

Hi Congratulations and best wishes for your forthcoming wedding. Planning a wedding can take a great deal of time, 250 hrs in fact. You have given yourself ample time to do this. Draw up a list of all your requirements putting in order of priority ie church, venue etc. In addition, because it is a way off you must make sure nearer the time that every supplier you have contacted are doing what you have asked, avoiding any last meeting disasters or hitches. Bit of an update; We've been to venue open day since posting last, we've had our quote back and are looking to book this week.

Our date and everything is already set, but i'm looking forward to it all being "official" with the venue booked

Another 2015 bride here, venue, photography, band, cake all booked. other things booked but just got to see the people now as we have had a lot of help with getting things sorted by my OH's boss.

We are getting married in September 2015.

I am now just searching for invites (even though we had someone do them for us as a gift, she has turned into a bit of a nightmare telling me we cannot have what i want so hence, getting rid of her), its my day and i will have what i want!!!. Keep looking for ideas and have some many ideas, i cannot wait

Our date is 12th September 2015, we picked september as its not too hot but just nice we felt and of course my OH can watch the footie whilst away he said. i dont think so lol

We're September 12th too!

We first met on September 10th so we will be doing the legal bit then, but we're having our actual "wedding" on the 12th.

We're hoping for that nice weather you mentioned, as we're having an entirely outdoor day. Huge risk, but it might just pay off!

My partner proposed on my 30th Birthday on 19th October whilst away in Rhodes.

We have decided to get married in Jamaica during January 2015...avoiding hurricane season with temperatures at a maximum of 30 c.

I am already looking at venues and wedding dresses; I'm super excited!!!

Hi Della! Look away! I've already booked venue, chair covers, church, photographer, florist - and all doing me fab deals for booking so far in advance!!

Another 2015 Bride here too! Ours is planned for 7th November 2015. Haven't gotten anything booked yet, but we know where we want to get married, and we definitely don't feel bad about planning so far in advance. It takes some of the pressure of trying to cram everything in in a short space of time.

We've got our venue booked now, but that'll be it for a while. I'll still be looking around but we're focusing on getting our house sorted next year. We've not long moved in and want to get cracking with decorating etc

Isn't life exciting. I remember when all my spare money went on shoes and nights out. Now it's all getting sucked up by fridge freezers and flooring! ?
