Are these shoes nice?

KJB, 19 May, 2009 at 23:00 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

I can't decide if I like these shoes, and that they are suitable a nod to high-fashion for a 30-something, or if they are M&S's poor attempt at being trendy....

What do you think?

(Sorry, not sure why link won't work.....)

I like them, in fact I may purchase a pair when I get paid. I'm not a trendy person though.

I'm not keen sorry, but then I don't much like the g;adiator sandal thing at the best of times.

They're a bit falling between two stools for me- I prefer gladiator flats or proper high wedges- that sort of low wedge isn't great IMO.

FtG - no need to apologise for your opinion! I wasn't over keen on the whole gladiator sandal thing last year, but as usual, after things being around for an age, I decide I quite like it...maybe it's just me getting used to things. Of course it means I'm always 12 months behind everyone else in the fashion stakes!

However having narrow feet, the fact that these tie on is a big bonus!

They've not got them in my size online anyway so it looks like I'll have to go back up to Cribbs.

The other sandal I liked is out of stock too, and they didn't have it instore in my size in the blue....maybe I'll have to get the brown ones.... http://www.marksandspencer.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/B001UL5Z5I/ref=custReviews-more/280-3190628-4004705?ie=UTF8&mnSBrand=core

The heel worried me a bit too....although you don't really see it when they're on (and [oldfarticon] it means they're a bit more comfortable)

Hmm. I'm not a fan of the low wedge either.

Have you looked in Office? I have a great pair of flat gladiator sandals from there - really simple flat ones, and they come in loads of colours. I wore them all week on holiday recently and they were really comfortable (to indulge your old fartedness)

WSS - Not a fan, they are neither one thing, or another.

I really like the 2nd pair, though suspect I would keep pitching forward in them ?

Thanks everyone....as I'm still not sure about them I'm not going to get them....I suspect they might have rubbed like hell anyway.

Will look at Office online later (too many images for it to load up on my work PC)

I may get the high wedges though....and hope like Taffie I don't lean forward when wearing them!

I don't like the gladiator sandals but as others have said I've never been keen on that type of shoe. I like the wedges though, I think they're quite funky.
