Are you wearing your dress all day?

BrideMrsT2B, 6 February, 2011 at 21:54 Posted on Planning 0 19

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if everyone is planning on wearing their wedding dress all day and all evening or are you going to change for the evening?

I have every intention of wearing my dress all day given how much its cost me and how much I love it, I want to get as much use out of it as possible on the day but speaking to a few friends they recommend having a different dress for the evening as they say the wedding dress will become heavy and uncomfortable as the night goes on....what do you think?

No way ! With the amount I have paid and the fact that I will never wear it or any other wedding dress again , it stays on ! lol I am going to have an ivory dress to go away in too if I can so I can wear the shoes the nest day and show them off in their full gorgeous glory ! That said my feet might be like trotters by then lol

I only found my dress yesterday after worrying for months about not finding one I'd love enough, so I intend to wear mine for as long as possible. I've got a 1:30pm wedding, so I'm reconning I should be able to get up to a good 12 hours wear out of it . . . I love it so much I may even wear it to bed!! ?

I'm looking into shoes now though, I need to wear heels for the walking down the aisle bit and the photos, but I'm not a heel wearer usually, so am definitely going to be getting a 2nd pair of shoes that'll be more comfortable to wear for the rest of the day and evening.

There wouldn't have been a hope in he!l I'd have got out of my dress although at 3am I did call it a night and partly because my dress was getting uncomfortable but I'd been in it for 15 hours and I hate all clothes in general anyway.

Oldgal - I love the idea of wearing something that you can wear your wedding shoes with the next day! Fantastic way of getting to show them off.

I'll be wearing mine all day!

I can sort of justify the cost if I break it down to a cost per hour basis and keep it on for ages!

All day and night! I have particularly chosen a wedding dress that I know I will look and feel fabulous in from walking down the aisle at 2.30pm to dancing on the tables at 2.30am!
