Are Your OH's Dieting?

MAG2FMC, 24 April, 2012 at 15:31 Posted on Planning 0 27

Ok, I know many of us ladies on here are full steam ahead on shedding our weight before the wedding, but I was just wondering if your OH's were also dieting? I know mine is! I think it helps that we're both around to encourage one another to hit the gym and stay away from those bad foods!

Same - OH has been going to the gym five days a week for a year. he is so good! When I do my stomach cruches/kettle bell exercises he is there to support me/force me to do more when I am dying lol.

He also gave up chocolate with me (Been on the wagon since May '11)!!!!

Mine is ridiculously skinny! he eats loads and stays really thin... I'm jealous of him...

he says he's put on some weight and wants to loose it...
I'm hoping he puts on weight so I don't look like a whale next to him!
    lol

My OH has been dieting since before we got engaged! We both put on a lo-ooot of weight last year and he was really unhappy. He's lost over 2 stone in a year! Very proud ? I've lost about 8 pounds, but I haven't really been trying - it's more down to outside stress factors tbh. But I plan to lose about another 4-5 pounds, get down to the next "stone" marker. My OH just being there makes me want to lose weight, because he's starting to look incredibly skinny and it makes me feel fat ?

We're both trying to be careful with our weight/fitness so altho neither of us is strictly dieting, we're both watching what we eat and exercising. Tbh, I like running more for the way it makes me feel afterwards than anything else. We've both lost weight for the wedding and our target is to get fit, toned and lose a little bit more weight for our honeymoon in Italy in 6 weeks time. Now that the wedding is so soon (3 days away!) I don't think we'll lose/put on a tremendous amount so we both had a Cadbury's creme egg last night!!!

I've been on WW since mid January and been cooking recipes (same sort of meals we normally eat but low fat and smaller portions) from a WW book and my OH has lost over a stone that way. He's not joined up himself but he knows he could do with losing a few lb. He works away a lot and struggles with what he eats when he's away, he also loves guiness ?.

My OH watches his weight and goes to the gym religiously everyday but isn't dieting anymore. He lost around 6 stone in about 12-18 months a couple of years ago and is now maintaining that. It means that he's very supportive of me dieting though!

    Yes!

We're both on WW and he's lost 1st 9lb since christmas. I've lost 1st 4lb since Chritsmas, and still have at least 7lb to go. We both needed to lose it anyway, but getting engaged at Christmas was good motivation - wedding is Sept, but Oh hasa fitting for a bespoke suit in May so needed to reach his target by then - I'm ok til frock fittings start in July ?

Yes and no...he's losing weight but he's not really dieting per say. We're just trying to make healthy choices, he's not really drinking and he's watching his portion sizes. But we still both enjoy our food! He doesn't do weigh-ins but he's lost 2 belt notches since xmas!!

Yes apparently he is ! ...one less chocolate bar a week will help over the coming year or so I'm told at least ?

My OH has a physical active job, so I'm not really concerned about his weight, which is just as well because I've tried his "diet" and I'm seeing no improvements lol

Sort of. I mean, he keeps saying things like, 'I need to lose weight,' but he hasn't really made too many changes to his diet. He's doing a bit more portion control than before, but he still has a massive bowl of cocoa shreddies at night sometimes!!

We've been motivating each other to go to the gym, though, and he can run on the treadmill for about an hour, though how he doesn't get bored I'll never know!

Mine is! He's far better at sticking to a diet than me. I'm trying to take the dog for long walks & she ends up dragging me home!! I'm trying to eat more healthily too (less biscuits) but not motivated to start properly yet as I know I won't stick to it. I need to follow by his example I think!

We've both been doing Slimming World (at home, no weigh ins) during the week since last August. We haven't followed it on weekends at all, regardless of whether we've been home or away. He's lost 2 stone and I've lost a stone.

I'm finding that weight loss has plateaud now that we've been doing it for so long, so I've started upping the exercise, but he hasn't done anything, although he maintains he wants to lose another half a stone before the wedding.

My OH has started going jogging a bit more in the last few weeks, he keeps making comments about fitting into his suit, so I guess it is hitting home now that he can't just eat whatever he wants. But though he is heavy he is so tall and broad he can carry it, his weight is mainly muscle apart from his sticky out belly - which I quite like and don't really think of him as overweight anyway.

My OH is. Since January he gave up alcohol and bad foods and has been going to the gym 5-6 days a week and hes lost 3 stone! He is now happy with his weight now and so he has started to have treats every now and again. Im so proud of him and he has started to really enjoy going to the gym!

I wonder that! OH does stupid distance runs on the treadmill and I just think that even if I could do it, I'd get bored!
