Argggh I feel sick with nerves....*another pointless flash!*

avintagebride, 17 November, 2010 at 08:38 Posted on Planning 0 13

I've just found out the sample of my dress was NOT sold this weekend to the B2B that tried it on. I have now e-mailed the store to ask if any movement can be made on price, owing to the fact I've found the same dress a size bigger elsewhere for £300 less.

Waiting for a reply......

Here's another flash!

I'm not sure of the story here (there obviously is one tho'!) but good luck with negotiations!

They wont move on the price as interest in it is very high. They will post to me for free but that is it. Eeek what to dooo? I don't know if alterations and postage from Ireland would be around £300 anyway?!

If I am honest, if you can afford it, I would go for it. You dont want to miss out again.

You would be able to get it sent by courier for about £30 as long as it's still classed as UK postage, I use www.parcel2go.com and they are very reasonable, you could get a quote, your alterations should be approx £80 - £100 say.

If the one that you have tried fits perfectly and you can afford it i would pay the extra £300, you;ve seen this dress so you know it's ok.

The one from Ireland maybe cheaper but like you said you've got to get it altered and i assume you haven't seen it in the flesh?

I haven't seen/tried either of these ones on. One is in Sussex and one is in Ireland. I tried it on in Northallerton (Teesside) where I live but that one is £1380 and she would only reduce to £1300. It also had a small click and a clasp that needed repairing. I've mailed her to see if she would reduce it but have had no response.

These two both state on the websites that they are as new/immaculate.

    Hence my ridiculous dilemma

The dress is beautiful, me being lazy i would probably go for the one that didnt need altering for ease

I knoooow it's a nightmare! To make matters worse, I don't like the belt that comes with it (It's the gold sequinned one on the full length pic) and I tried an embellished sash on with it in Northallerton which I also have to have, so I'm still going to have to go there to get that anyway! Grr!

I am worried about the alterations if I get the larger one because it is low cut as it is, so the larger size would be even lower. This makes me think I'll get the one for £900 in Surrey.

It's still £800 cheaper than RRP

PLUS It is discontinued so I have to move quick!!!!
