ARGHHHHHH....i have just discovered...

AutumnRose, 14 June, 2010 at 19:34 Posted on Planning 0 9

......that we have to send the form back to registrar with details of our readings, vows, words for ring exchange, music etc....oh and money.....by Thursday ( 1 month before wedding at latest!!)

I don't know why i had it in my head it was 2 weeks beforehand (maybe because most stuff is due by then) but luckily i was looking for something else and happened to come across the booklet and papers etc! So i have to get everything ready to post tomorrow!!!

So now got to make all the last minute decisions on vow wording etc! Plus we discovered that East Sussex don't have you in for a meeting in advance so all decisions etc on how the ceremony will run on a stupid form rather than face to face which seems ridiculous and can't see that it'll be how i want it or that we can plan properly.

URGH!!!!!!!! Sorry, no need to reply i guess i'm just venting. This is the most important part of the day and i'm now having to make rush decisions!!!

Also had an email today from stationary lady to say she is going on holiday on Friday for 2 weeks so please can she have the wordign and details for order of day and menu etc tonight so she can get them sorted before she goes and that will just leave her with the table plan to finalise when she get backs (2 weeks before wedding)...that has added to my stress levels!!!!!!

Needs a glass of wine i think....stuff not drinking on a monday!!!

We had to do ours face to face except I forgot we had to pick our vows and went to the meeting without them (i thought we were just going to pay and confirm timings!). I had to sit in the registrars office picking mine after a ticking off from the scary lady (she turned out to be lovely on the day)! We literally had 5 mins to pick the vows!

You'll be fine after your vino. x

See i think face to face would be easier because then you can atleast have a conversation about how you want things to run etc. 5mins is a bit short though!!!

I've just picked a fight with H2B for not helping enough because i can't delegate any of the stuff for him to do....what a horrible W2B i am!!!!!!!!!

I havent heard from our registrar about when we get to tell them what we would like music and vow wise. Its just over two weeks away. I asked a month ago about when the meeting would be and they said oh we will contact you a couple of weeks beforehand and hopefully you can make a meeting otherwise just email us what you want... ?!?

We are supposed to do ours a month before, but are late getting the form in!

On the plus side, rushed decisions mean that you don't have to agonise over it for too long (and I am not sure that having longer will necessarily mean I can come up with anything better!).

Quick decisions will use your first instinct! You wont have time to him and haw and ooo and aaa about everything! Sit down the OH now and pick those vows!

Thanks girls - i think we're getting there! H2B is soooooo annoying as he just says he's happy with whatever i'm happy with!!!

Got to sort content for menus and order of days now!!! And how many....

do i just want one menu per table? does each guest need and order of the day?!?!?!?!

Thanks kirsty. I **think** we are going to have a menu per table in a frame which fits in with our vintage tables. Then we'll have order of the days per couple/person if need be.

So many details you dont realise about!!!

Lordy! The same happened to me.... I spent months and months trawling the internet till I was left with about 20 readings I loved (then kind of thought it was done?!?!?!?) other things got in the way - moved house etc - then got 2 calls in one day from our registrar and venue wanting civil ceremony choice, readings, readers, music, running orders, suppliers names and addresses - I had such good intentions of keeping on top of things and I really wasn't ..

I rushed it - submitted everything I had - and it worked out GRAND!

I agree with the girls - dont agonise over it - it'll be better working on instinct! :-) xxx
