Arrivals Drinks, what would you choose?

OH and I visited the venue again this morning, to pay some more off the balance. The co-ordinator saw us and sat and had a coffee and chat with us.

We have now confirmed that we will be having a drinks package which includes arrival drink, carafes of wine on table and toast drink. We also confirmed that we will be having canapés and a "non beige" buffet for the main meal with a "cheese" cake tower for the evening buffet with port etc.

OH and I were discussing the arrivals drinks and his thoughts were that most of his mates will go to the bar for beer/lager etc so its up to me to decide on the arrivals drinks, so we have a choice of -

Pimms

Bucks Fizz

Fruit Punch

Mulled Wine

Warm apple, Cointreau and cinnamon punch.

Our wedding is in early May.

I'd go for Pimms and if you can a non-alcoholic option too so fruit punch or just a plain juice.

As it's in May I would avoid the mulled wine and warm apple, cointreau and cinnamon punch, to me they are wintery drinks. Pimms is quite popular with most people and is a nice summery drink.

What is a non-beige buffet? Does it mean no pastry/bread etc?

A beige buffet, to me, is filled rolls/sandwiches, sausage rolls. Vol au vents etc... Basically lots of bread and pastry yes.

I can't see the point in bucks fizz, personally. It's either orange juice or wine/pimms etc..... I don;t really know anyone who drinks bucks fizz, not even at weddings,.

I'd go for Pimms but may be bias as that's what we're having ? The Warm apple, Cointreau and cinnamon punch sounds absolutely lovely but as someone else said - a bit more of a wintery drink really.

100% Pimms (but it has to include fruit, cucumber and ice) hate the fact all these wedding venues try and fob everyone off with Bucks Fizz, to me, it's so dated.

I'd go for Fruit Punch because I hate Pimms (largely because I dont like Mint or cucumber so think its ruined previous attempts to drink it!) But I suspect when it comes to our September wedding I will be outvoted and we'll end up having Pimms, because with the exception of me, everyone seems to like it!

Bucks fizz. I actually like cocktails of fruit juice and champagne/sparkling wine - my favourite is Bellini.
