Artificial Flowers?

aimzxx, 15 February, 2013 at 12:33 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hey everyone!

I'm sorry if this has already been covered...

Artificial flowers? Worth using...Some of the flashes below look amazing and real I think.....

I booked and paid a deposit for a florist, but since she closed her shop down shes been off the radar and really hard to get hold of so i'm thinking of an alternative...

What do we think?

We were going to go down the artificial route- have a budget of £200 to spend on flowers- but, actually, by the time we'd have bought all the bits we found a florist who quoted us £150 for doing it all in fresh flowers!

Artificial flowers are great if you want unusual colours, etc.- we originally wanted blue flowers, but actual, proper blue flowers (not purply) in the colour we wanted are hard to come by- and expensive- if you want real ones. We've changed to yellow now, but artificial flowers can give you more of a bespoke option and look just as good, I reckon.

I have gone with artifical flowers, found the lady via facebook actually, her reviews were brilliant and they look great, as Im gettied married quite far away from home I wanted something that could be keept , and for my fridesmais to be able to keep as well

I also found it easier to organise as these are being delivered to me 2 weeks before the wedding and I will be takin them with me ?

I think its personally choice really and hopefully mine will look great when they arrive!

I had artificial flowers from our very own Rainbow Florist (who is very friendly, and helpful!) I knew the colours I wanted & one of the flowers and she created some beautiful bouquets!

If you click on the links to my report in my signature you should find some photos!

She did mine & bridesmaids flowers and the button holes & corsages.

I still have mine on display at home!

My wonderful FMIL really wanted to do the bouquets, but wouldn't consider real flowers in case she messed it up, so we're having artificial and I've seen ones sh's done before and they're grand. Flowers don't get my juices flowing like other things, so I'm not too worried, they'll be on show for such a short amount of time.

I faked it and have no regrets as it all looked fab (report in sig). They are now in a perspex display box in my lounge with hubby's buttonhole. My BM has hers in her bedroom. A great keepsake forever.

I've just received a quote from pinklilac for some bespoke flowers and it was very reasonable, much less than I was expecting.
