Artificial Flowers

makaton, 24 October, 2013 at 13:06 Posted on Planning 0 11

Hi, I'm getting married in the Channel Islands and then having a party back in the UK. I was wondering if anyone has had or will be having their bouquet made from silk / artificial flowers? i dont really want to pay for 2 sets of real flowers and so artificial flowers seem like the best option. I just have horrible memories of the kinds of plasticy flowers my nan used to have!

thanks!

Lorna

There are great options in the market nowadays.

Which flower kind would you have in mind? Smiley smile

I thought the same as you so I've found someone who does artificial bouquets and I've ordered one flower so I can see what the quality is like - it's so difficult to tell just by looking at at a website.

I was looking in The Range at their wedding stuff and there was a gorgeous bouquet of white foam roses with pearls in it for £6; if they'd had ones with some purple in as well I would have picked them up for my BMs.

You can some really beautiful realistic looking flowers. They have a big range at Country Baskets, you have to join to use their store, but anyone can join.

We had latex calla lillies and they were beautiful. They were botanically correct and they felt as fragile as a real flower. Someone in the evening commented they still looked lovely an hadnt wilted.

In fact my MOH kept hers in a vase of water for a month until her dad informed her that fake flowers don't need water. She didn't even realise and she'd been holding them all day!!
