Asking my friend to be my bridesmaid!

Arpee, 14 July, 2014 at 09:51 Posted on Planning 0 7

OH and I are going up to Scotland this weekend, where I grew up, to see my best friend from school. I'm going to ask her to be my bridesmaid and I am dead excited! Our friendship really blossomed when we ended up going to Starbucks most days after school and talking about boys etc, so I'm going to write "Will you be my bridesmaid?" on an empty Starbucks cup which I picked up yesterday. I'm also planning to put a note inside the cup, telling her how much she means to me and how I think she'll be a fab bridesmaid - with her living so far away from me (500 miles, that's an 8 hour drive!), I won't be expecting her to come to dress fittings etc, I just want her to be there for me on the day really.

Is there anything else you can think of that I could put in the cup? It's perhaps a bit early for a wedding day survival kit, with plasters and painkillers etc, we're not getting married for 2 years and still haven't set an actual date! Maybe some pages from bridal magazines of dresses, flowers etc?

That sounds so nice and how lovely your still good friends with 500 miles between you both!

Iv no idea what you can really put in the cup, I do like the idea of wedding magazine bits!

What a lovely way to ask her! Sounds perfect! I agree with not going for a hangover kit - its too early! How about a picture of the most hideous bridesmaids dress? Her reaction will be funny!! Is there anything small she collects? Or did you both wear friendship bracelets or something when you were younger? Hth :-)

What about the cute girly makeup bits you can get for young girls/tweens? I'm thinking of things like lipgloss rings etc.

I gave my sister a beautiful silver bracelet I hoped she would wear on the day, a copy of the hilarious Bridesmaids DVD, a bridal magazine, and a pack of Love hearts! Smiley smile

I gave her the Starbucks cup with the letter and a picture of a big fat gypsy bride and her bridesmaid in on Saturday night, just before we went out for dinner... And she said yes, and we screamed and hugged and jumped up and down for 10 minutes!! She was so excited, it was the best reaction I could have wanted! Looking forward to doing a bit of girly planning with her now Smiley smile

I have designed a message collection of jewellery, I display my items with a message card. These are the phoebe freshwater pearl sterling silver stud earrings. £9.99.

They are packaged in a gorgeous gift box which should fit inside a starbucks cup.

Here is the link to the page on my website.

    Have a great day.
