I going to recommend it to my doc when I go in for my next re-up.

Seeing as we're on the subject, I've been on Prozac for about 6 months now and he still insists on seeing me before renewing my script....Normal?

I only get a month's supply at a time of mine (not Prozac) and I've been on it for over a year. I don't have to see a doc each time though, although they do ask me how long I've been on them for every time I go. Think it took about 3 months for me to start getting it on repeat. Have you had problems with it though? (like I had really bad side effects at first even though I'd been on mine before)

I would say it is normal to be checked on a regular basis (from my own experience) x

ONE - it could be that Prozac isn't working as effectively for you. One of the reasons why the doctors calls you in rather then just giving a repeat prescription.

I was given Prozac last year and persevered with it for 4 months, but just never felt much better. My doc changed me to citralopam and within 6-8 weeks I felt so much more better.

AFAIK the first year/time of being on anti-ds or psychological medication of any kind the docs will monitor you closely.

Funnily enough, now that they've let me take the reigns on my meds is when everything falls to pot! ?

Seriously though, I wouldn't see it as a bad thing. I'd just be honest with the docs each time, and TELL THEM you find it odd that they want to see you everytime they prescribe you the meds.

My doc. is a bit of a dragon. I was seeing a locum for the first couple of months and got on really well with her. Don't find my own GP so easy to talk to. Although he's absolutely in my corner... He tend's to go off on quite angry tangents.
