Attention to detail! Beyond the call of duty?!

IGB2B, 6 April, 2014 at 18:33 Posted on Planning 0 16

Has anyone else become obsessed with tiny, insignificant details in the lead up to their wedding? Normally, I wouldn't bother with such things but I've just found myself spending the last hour sewing extra buttons onto an outfit for the dog!

My fiancé is in the Scots Guards and they wear their buttons in groups of threes. I ordered a little kilt outfit for my dog to wear. The tartan is the correct one for the Scots Guards but the buttons were in twos, so I ordered extra buttons and I've just sewed them on so that his buttons will be in threes now to match my fiancé's uniform. Will anyone notice? Probably not but it is a little detail that means a lot to my fiancé and me! Has anyone else found themselves spending hours sorting out little details that any normal person won't even notice?!

Wedding madness!

My answer is no as I had such a blasé approach to the whole affair however I am beyond keen to know more about a dog in a kilt. I need more details (and pictures) of course.

I too would like to see this dog in a kilt. In fact I'd say there's no occasion on which I would turn down the opportunity to see a picture of a dog in human clothes.

I am MAD...Meticulous About Detail.....An example is one photograph of the bride a few years ago. She was sitting at her dressing table with an array of perfumes......something didn't work with the shape of one of the bottles nearest to the camera, although initially I didn't know why, just that it looked and felt wrong......on checking closer, it was her OH's after shave bottle.....not the sort of thing you want in a brides photo....

Hahaha! Mr DCM and I had a very long conversation about whether the lace we'd bought was too yellow when we doing the invitations and realised we'd got a bit obsessed and had to step away from the wedding planning ;-)

To be honest I never thought I would care about the details like invitations and flowers etc but I've found I've keep getting caught up in the little details and have to get everything back into perspective. It's weird I never expected to be like that.

What's the story behind the coat for the dog? Will he be at the wedding?

The dog will be at the wedding. He's an important part of the family! This is him in the kilt before I sewed the extra buttons on:

Omg, what a cute dog! I have been considering looking for a suit for my cat online - I thought I was bonkers but i'm glad to see someone else dressing up their pet for the big day!

Your dog looks awesome! What a cutie Smiley smile

Re: Attention to detail.... we are putting a foil covered chocolate within each favour bag. I checked each of the chocolates for damage to the foil / messiness of the foil, and discarded the slightly damaged ones.

*Disclaimer: 'discarded' may or may not mean 'ate them'.

So lovely to see someone sharing their special day with their pet! I went to a wedding last spring where the reception was held at the family home. The dog, who was very old and just wanted fuss and scritches, spent the whole afternoon and evening wandering around. He even made a few appearances on the dance floor!

    Too cute xxx

That is so cute!! I haven't had any moments like those mentioned yet but no doubt I will as I can be quite particular about things.

I may or may not have had to eat some of the Lovehearts too, just to check whether they were stale or not ?
