August 09 brides...how are we getting on?

summer_sparkles, 13 July, 2009 at 14:44 Posted on Planning 0 20

Not long now eh?

Planning isn't going too badly, just need to do all the little fiddly things like write place cards...only 26 little things left to do according to Hepburn's list. Has it sunk in for you yet? I get a few moments of welling up every now (like when the vicar came round and read us our vows etc last night) and then but generally I don't seem to realise it's just six weeks away.

So how have you been getting on?

Mine is 3 weeks Friday and I'm trying not to get too excited. My dress is still in the early stages of being made. Tomorrow I get to try the whole thing on (so far I've only had the corset bit fitted) in Callico. I have ful lfsith in my dress maker to get it ready and made in time

    Hey everyone.

I'm 1st August and starting to get very excited now although very nervous at the same time if that makes any sense at all.

So, apart from my cheque book taking a battering at the moment, I still have to:

    • make table plan
    • write place cards
    • create CD's for wedding breakfast
    • Bridesmaid dress fittings - should really get on with this
    • put readings onto card
    • make rest of favours and actually decide what I am going to put in them
    • make table names
    • Phone florist and finalise details

Think that is all I have left to do. Got quite a bit done these past few weeks which is good, although the things I have left to do are quite time consuming.

    Hows everyone else doing?

Hi Im 22nd Aug and it would seem I still have lots to do! Put all my favours together yesterday (we are having apple cube sweets in bags). We have had today off and tomorrow we are off too to do some more planning finalising.

Today was quite productive, we went to Bluewater and got my OH's shoes for the wedding, ordered our wedding cake from M & S (3 for 2, bargain!) and booked our honeymoon! So excited now!!!

    I'm August 30th.

Feels like there's still loads to do! Although OH has finally started actually doing wedding jobs when asked.

Managed to get nearly there on our table plan, but still have 140 orders of the day to finish making - should probably be doing that rather than hitching...

Hi i'm 1st August (19 days ? ) I have practically everything done, just got to wait and see wether our friend is getting a few cameras for each table, if he does I then have to write a few poems for the back of the table numbers. Go and meet with the photographer one last time, have my final dress fitting (which I cant wait for) and just finalise our sweet table. Thats it, I just then have to sit back and wait for the big day.

My hen night is on Saturday and I cant wait.

Will probably have a new post on here soon asking how to upload photos, so I can show you my hen night and then ofcourse the big day.

Good luck to all you ladies

    Zoe

I'm getting married on the 7th August but at the moment it hasn't really sunk in as it still feels like months away! I think it will feel more real next week as that's when my parents, sister & BIL arrive!! I don't think I have too much more to do apart from paying off everything and little things that can't be done until certain dates. I'm feeling quite good about it at the moment which is a shock in itself since I can be a very stressed person but my mum and sister have organised all the appointments and activities into a wedding calendar for me which is great ? Only blip at the moment is I'm currently at home sick with flu but at least it happened this week instead of the wedding week! Looking forward to seeing everyones wedding reports and wishing you all the best for your big day!!!!

    xxx

I can not believe now it is getting so close, the table plan is done the place cards are done. As we get everything it all goes in to a box ready to take to the hotel. The favours are all sorted and boxed ready to go as well. H2b's nephews are having their suits sorted on Friday, and the bridesmaids are going to try on their dresses a week on Friday then they will stay there till the week of the wedding. The only thing we need to pay for is the hotel, cake and photographer. We met him on Sunday which went really well. Just to need to ring the lady concerning the cake to confirm everything is OK. Can only do now what finances will allow, the hooks on my dress are now meeting. But after I actually rang my dad yesterday which did not go well, I hit the food. Back to it today!

I am giving up on trying to tick anything off the list this week, being the last week of term, everything just seems to have gone crazy. Hopefully normal service will resume next Monday.

Although we have got to go and meet the tog on Thursday evening. My OH has never met him. What if he doesn't like him?? I'm sure he will and everything will be ok. <fingers crossed>

Can't really finish my stationery off until I get a new ink cartridge but never seem to have the time to food shop let alone for things like that. Perhaps I'll go tonight when I finish work at 11pm.

Also need an trip to some clothes/underwear shops. I need some very, very good magic knickers to keep everything in place for my hen night. And I also need one of those bras that you stick to your t!ts. My dress has no back from my bottom upwards so I can't wear a normal bra and I don't fancy having them flopping around all night!!
