It's great to have an August 2014 buddy! We can kick each other's arses into gear!

It seems like we've ticked a lot of things of the list becasue we've used a wedding planner and chosen a package. So ceremony, venue, food, flowers, and photos are already booked. Got a whole heap of legal shizz to fix though because neother me or HTB can find any of our original birth cirtificates and stuff like that.Chosen bridesmaids but not even thought about outfits for anyone, accomodation, flights and the 'do' in Leeds when we get back.

How about you? I am quite jealous that I can't really personalise my reception venue too much as we won't have room in our suitcases!

I am literally spending my holidays planning- term time just doesn't happen!!! To many GCSE practicals to contend with!!!!

All i have left to sort is: Dress, Cars, Rings, Stationary, and a few little bits- we have booked the majority like venue dresser but have not yet decided on the finer details!

I also have enlisted the help (at a massive deal) of a wedding planner to co-ordinate the last week so i can kick back and relax (and deal with what ever flu/cold thing the kids manage to give me!!!!)

Ahh I am a teacher too! Now let's be honest guys - how much planning for next term have you done compared with wedding 'research'? (eg looking at dresses and pictures of elaborate cakes!)

Please will someone kick me off here so I can write a BTEC brief!

Actually no don't do that. I want to look at more pictures of kick ass cakes!

"In your new job as a wedding planner, you must show that you are able to provide the customer with evidence that you understand budgetting!!!!" All sorted for BTEC wedding planning.

I spent 3 days sorting work before i even logged on to Hitched this Easter!!! since then it has been non-stop and ive done soooo much!!! might be able to relax over the summer- well, maybe not!!!

hahahaha! I think my students would prefer that to the slog they've got ahead of them before June.

Haha I'm the opposite! I'm a final year undergraduate who's been using the wedding planning as an excuse to get out of doing any of my coursework! That's why ours is planned for next year, wish it was this year but I'm also glad it's next year as got loads of time to get all the small details perfect ?

This is brilliant! I feel like changing the name of the thread to "teacher and soon to be teacher 2014 brides!"

We should definitely keep each other up to date on progress! x

Definitley! My CBM came round tonight and she thinks it's hysterical that I've found a gang of teachers to procrastinate with. She also thinks that being teachers we'll have our weddings planned for next August sometime before next half term! Probably!

Please let's keep motivating each other though coz I think the next term is going to finish me off (awaiting OffWithTheirHeadSted and moving into a new building on Monday!)

Absolutely true about organisation - it will be done early typically! And with 2 of my BMs also being teachers, anything that may slip my mind as the B2B, will be quickly put into place by those 2! x

I'm having a wedding meeting (well a night of bridesmaids giggling with wine in one room, and groomsmen chortling with beer in another room) in a couple of weeks, and I will most certainly be introducing my friends to the term "OffWithTheirHeadsted"! I love it!!!

I can't complain about INSET on Monday, when you've got to move buildings! Good luck with it. x

Welcome! Be you teachers, nurses, students or circus performers etc haha!

August 2014 is sure as heck gonna be a great month!

Teachers: you will be delighted to know that I completed a y7 scheme for next term. I also looked at bridesmaid dresses

Do you think these would work in the same fabric but different shapes?

I don't know!!!!!!! I am a bit random when it comes to putting outfits together (today I went out in purple tights, army green dress, red coat and blue hat?!)

What are your thoughts on a multicoloured theme? Bridesmaids in floral dresses with more greens and blues that pinks. Junior bridesmaids in block colours taken from the bridesmaid's dresses and me in an ivory dress but with a colour in the sash and coloured shoes (something very bright - I really like yellow or emerald green). For shapes I'm thinking that as 2 of my BM's are really curvy they would look great in the swing dresses with colour petticoats but one is a runner and super athletic so she will look amazing in a wiggle dress as there is not an ounce of fat on that girl (it's a good job she is a very lovely person!)

MOB has just picked out this dress as a front runner for herself

    So lilac may feature too.

I actually think colours are what will stress me out the most. We are getting married in Greece so there will be a lot of white buildings in the background of shots so it's a brilliant photo opp for colours to really POP!

    Waddya think?

Yes, looked at a few options. Would like a London wedding so probably register office then hire a pub for the reception. Planning to go and see a couple next week.

Off to a wedding fair tomorrow though so may have a whole new set of plans after that!

So keen to set a date but also trying to buy a house at the moment so have to prioritise that at the moment. Boo!
