Ahhh raincloud day before me AND similar H2B rings ? Mine got a black zirconium ring because he's a mechanic so doesn't want it to get scratched or anything. Mine is quite simple (and budget friendly) but I love it. Flashy flash

Very pretty ring lottie! I love simple for wedding rings. Never heard of zirconium but just had a quick google and I like. Classy and different.

Ah thanks raincloud he's not a jewellery kinda person and (hopefully) he'll be wearing it for the rest of his life so as long as he's happy. I'm a little bit in love with mine and it even fits with my engagement ring that has oval diamonds so bonus ?

    Hey All,

I had a moderately productive weekend! We've booked our first night hotel, it's gorgeous! soo excited, we didn't go for the mega expensive room as to be honest we'll only use it to collapse but it's still beautiful it's just a shame we wont get the chance to use any of the spa facilities... maybe i'll have to book us in again for our year anniversary!

We went to sort out suits but burtons were useless, they'd ordered a suit in for OH to try but despite taking his measurements the suit was far too big and looked awful so we went over to debenhams, same company and suit but the guy was much more helpful and we have an appointment for next Saturday, this goes against my having December off but I want the suits sorted as I don't want the regular morning suit but three piece grey suits which has turned in to much more of a challenge than I ever expected!

I want to get my OH's ring engraved on the inside, it's palladium, I just thought it would make it a bit more special, does anyone know how much it will cost, I want 5 words engraved.

Did you all have a good weekend? We watched the rugby on Saturday and I'm still feeling quite sorry for myself from all the alcohol...

I am planning on getting OHs ring engraved, they said £20 if I take it back to the place I got it. But with it being Palladium it might be harder to engrave?! So will see what comes of that.

Well done on 1st night hotel. We had a choice between a £270 suite or a £70 4* place so we've gone with the cheaper option, just because as you said, we are barely going to use it, and it means we can be close to family/friends on the day after the wedding.

I gave up in Burtons and Moss too! They just seemed so rude! My OH spends Monday to Friday having to be smart and shave everyday so tends to spend Saturday morning in Joggers and a hoody and they looked down on us a bit I think so we haven't gone back! We instead went to a local supplier and got an excellent deal - 7 full 3 piece suits, cravats, handkerchiefs, shirts, shoes for £410! Very pleased!

I had a stressful weekend driving in the snow, but got some quality time alone with OH (a rarety) so was happy! I have to get my wedding MOJO back, think winning some Hitched raffle prizes may help - pretty things coming and all that.

I'm an August bride too - Sat 6th. I'm feeling startlingly behind at the moment, as I've sorted practically nothing. (Venue, registrar, tog and dress is it.) Kayl, would I be able to get a copy of the list too? Sounds like you are far better organised than me...

Despite saying I was going to have december off we went and booked the suits on Saturday and picked up OH's ring, he doesn't like it much though... unfortunately thats nothing to do with the ring and everything to do with him having large knuckles and small fingers so the ring just goes over his knuckle but hangs off his finger... ☹️

Really pleased with the suits though...

@ Phoenix - my oH is much the same on the ring front, he has big nuckles and little fingers bless him. I really like the suits though, I told OH I wanted the 3 piece suit in the same Charcoal grey colour but he wasn't keen and has gone for Navy suits in the end.

I had the whole of November off and now am feeling a bit bad about it so back on the Wagon! Ordered thank you gifts for everyone other than my mom, dad and PIL, and got BM necklaces and bought my undies too. Started making a slide show of the kind of pics I like for our TOG from goggling but it's not as easy as I imagined!

Not sure what is next on my hit list, but i'll find something, ?

@Spikey - sure, drop me an email.

Hello so we getting married this year! under 7 months to go for me! had a chat with the h2b last night and told him i was getting a bit panicking about all the bits left to do, so he has promised me that we can sort out rings this weekend and a few other bits and pieces. I have eventually arranged to go and give notice next month, just need to badger him into making his appointment too! Dieting has been a bit so and so but i am sure i will get there.....

So how is everyone else doing?

I'm trying to move things along as OH is off soon for a few months so we're seeing the caterer tomorrow to decide food. today i've booked my hair trial and my boudoir shoot - (though I maybe crazy as travelling hours to get there but her pictures are amazing!)

We have a do in my OH's mess tomorrow night so I doubt I'll get much else done this weekend!

Argh, I feel your pain. I know I have to lose a bit of weight for the wedding, but I just don't feel motivated in the slightest. Somehow I think that it'll miraculously drop off on the day!

Not much has change my end with the church wedding side of things. On the good side, the Indian wedding is starting to get organised. We have venue and caterers booked, the mandap (wooden structure thing to sit under for the ceremony) is booked as well as the priest. Next step is invites and buying a beautiful sari for myself!

MrsB_2_be Hi. How are your plans going?

It has been a while since we have checked in on all our August brides! Well after a long period of being quite frankly bored with planning a wedding and just wanting to be married - I have hopped back on the wagon and ready to roll - well at least dictate to everyone what i want them to do!!

FIL2b was sent shopping to get shirts and ties from the burberry store - tick (he works for them thankgoodness or it would have been tesco or next!)

BM eventually went yesterday to the birmingham lady and got dresses and shock of horrors seeing as they would not wear anything out of my wardrobe liked the dress i had picked - all strange shapes -so made to measure but ordered whoo hoo!!! Birmingham lady was quite surprised the bride could not be bothered to go!

H2b is going to be confirmed in the next few weeks sorting out the mess that was the catholic church - phew

So need to write a list of things still left to do other than LOSE weight and STOP eating crap!

So how is everyone else getting on???

    Ooh, can I join in?

I'm another August 28th bride,I spotted a couple in this thread.I only got engaged at Christmas 2010 so I'm playing catch up!

Venue is booked (same for ceremony and reception) dress on order though likely to change my mind, Mum's making the cake, I'm desining the invites (almost finished) photographer booked, flowers chosen but not got a florist yet

I'm sure there's loads more I should have done by now!

Well, since my last post on this thread my dress has arrived and is gorgeous - just needs the hem taking up - my mum and I will sort this. My BM is pregnant, due two weeks before the wedding so the BM dress has had a halt put on it. Our invites are designed printed and made and look fab. Day ones have been sent - got some rsvp's already! Evenings ones are ready to go in a few weeks. tog has been decided on. Hairdresser booked, still sorting makeup. Hen do and stag do are both in the process of being sorted. Think thats it - not much really. Oh, yes, my bouchet is coming along nicely and we had our marriage prep day at the church.

Hiya - the hitcher formely known as Kayl here!

Oh dear - I am a bit worried because my bridesmaid dresses are still not ordered!! One of my 4 girlies had a baba in January so she wanted some time and now we are all so busy it's too hard to find a time to get us all together, and living hundreds of miles apart isn't helping.

I think the birmingham dress lady is the way forward, and have got 2/4 BMs to agree to a early May meet up - going to take those 2 to try on, and the others will just have to be made to size - nightmare!

Other than that - no big things left to do, just the finishing bits and pieces - making table names at the moment, and will soon be making the outline to the table plan (the names will have to wait). Our invites should go out this weekend - I've had them written a while but I don't want to send them out too early.

I believe my hen night plans were emailled out this weekend as already had one BM tell me she can't afford to come! ☹️ and my Mom is busy organising a second. Had one hair trial but completely changed my style idea, and not had a make up trial yet but booked in for 30 July (quite late, but if it came to it, I could do it myself, I think).

Glad to see we're all making lots of progress now though - can't believe it'll be only 4 months away for us a week tommorrow! Eeeek!

    Hi Ladies,

I'm just sorting out little bits now.

I made my OH a sock monkey - he's wanted one for a while so I thought why not ill add it in with the other bits for the wedding day.

I ordered the frame for my thumbprint tree which I should pick up tomorrow and went to my first dress fitting... very scarey :o) - stupidly I decided to go for the higher heels than the low ones so I'll take the low ones back and I have to start teaching myself to walk in heels! :o)

I'm seeing the cake lady on friday to finalise the cake and I received my invite proofs from prettywild, they're amazing!!!

I have lots of stuff booked in for May and June so I'm thinking I may chill out in April before it all goes mad - OH is away for the whole of June too and with his stag do, my hen do and a trip away with my best friend I don't think we'll see each other at all in July!!

Well, it's 4 months for us today - it really is coming up fast.

I'm a bit worried about my lack of bridesmaid dresses, which will be ordered in another month! Eeek, but sure it'll be ok.

I am loving the sock creature pheonix!

What are people working on right now?
