August 2011 Brides ... Updates??

babybirdandmouse, 18 December, 2010 at 18:32 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi,

I'm just a little bored this evening as I've been stuck in the house all day due the snow so was just wondering where all the August 2011 Brides are up to with their plans. I feel like things are finally starting to come together now. We are booked to give notice on 6th January so once that's out of the way, the registry office will be confirmed. I have just decided on the lace for my wedding dress so hopefully that will start to take some shape soon. The silversmith altering my engagement ring and making my wedding band contacted me yesterday with pictures of my wedding ring which she finished yesterday. She has now started on the engagement ring which will obviously take a bit more time than the plain wedding band Smiley smile

Here is a little flash.

Our STD's are going out with our Christmas cards in the next couple of days which for some reason, I'm quite nervous about!!

This scares me alot!! As I have only been engaged for 3 weeks, and we are planning our wedding for August 2011 (there is good reason for this though) and we are only going to view the venue in a couple of weeks! Eek!

We are 12 august next year and thinks seem to be coming together nicely here too! Big things we need to sort are bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses along with OHS outfit. We have a meeting with the vicar on 31st jan which I am looking forward to, starting to finalise some plans for the service I hope.

It sounds like we are all doing pretty well! Klewin - I'm sure you won't have any problems in getting everything all together in time.

I always feel like I am forgetting something because I'm not having bridesmaids, wedding cars or a DJ. This is everything I have got done:

Registry Office booked (give notice 06/01/11)

    Deposit paid for Reception venue

    Deposit paid for Cupcake Tier

    My wedding ring

    Dress

STD's and Wedding invitations (although not sent, too early!)

    Bouquet & Buttonholes

Honeymoon sorted (thanks Mum & Dad!)

    Hairstylist & Make-up

    Photographer

Things I still need to do:

    Andy's wedding ring

    Andy's suit

Decide on catering (nearer the time)

I'm still sure I am missing something really important!!

    Hey everyone,

We're getting married on the 21st August and I feel like I have soooooo much left to do. If I didn't spend so much time stressing about money I'd probably get more done! ?

    So far I've done:

    Booked the venue

Booked the registrar and giving notice of marriage in 10 days

    Picked the menu

Got the invitations and sending them out early in the New Year because it's a Sunday wedding

    the rings

The dress AND nearly paid it off

The bows for the chairs but trying to find cheap chair covers now

    H2B's suit

    DJ

    Photographer

    Still to do:

    Favours

    Cake

HONEYMOON- don't have a clue about this

    Groomsmen suits

    BM dresses

    Hair, makeup, shoes etc

    Flowers

    Centrepieces

    Figure out the gift list

Erm.......what else?? Probably a million things haha ?

Hi Im 28th!! Im slightly panicked as I just read an email saying the bridal shop has been taken over and under new management!!? Ive paid for half of my dress and its due in in may. I think the new management might be the seamstress Ive been working with -hope so anyway! My STD went out and I felt nervous too!! I think it makes it so much more real!! Ive got to start printing out my invites but I cant seem to get my printer to print to the edge so need to mess around with the margins and get that sorted. Everything else is pretty much all under control! ?

There isn't a great deal I can do at the moment so just hanging on. My guest book and the photo sticker printer I ordered arrived a few days ago ? If the snow isn't too bad on Tuesday off to look at brdiesmaids dresses and tiaras and my dress will be ready when I get back to Kuwait after Xmas (hopefully) and that's about it until Feb/March when hopefully I'll be in Tanzania and can get more done.

I'm the 11th... I have 117 things still to do on my to do list but most of the major things are done. Just what feels like a million ideas to put into practice... I sent my save the dates in August but still haven't decided on my stationary... I thought about doing it myself but when I started to add up the cost of what I wanted to do I don't think I was saving much moneywise. I've got some time booked in with Prettywild in Feb to look at invitations, I really love her stuff. I've finally sent my banns form off to the church today so hopefully we'll get that sorted soon and we can meet with the church I'm worried that they might not let us have the hymns we want...

Ooh and I just got a phonecall to say my dress is in!!!!!!

We haven't filled out much church paperwork as yet, our vicar appears to be a little bit more relaxed than I am, which is stressing me out in itself. ?

Have a meeting on 27th to attend marriage prep classes (which H2b can't make), so hopefully might start getting the ceremony side of things moving then.

It's based on a few lists that have come up on here, my own to do list and a lot was taken from Kayl's list she posted about on one of the other August Updates I believe... it sounds like a lot but it's helped me loads as I'm sure I wont forget anything and my head feels slightly less crammed since I sorted it out!

We haven't met our vicar yet just had a phonecall from a lady in the parish office, she sent out the banns forms. Marriage prep classes? interesting... I guess we'll be doing something similar we have to spend a day with someone at the church so I guess they get it all over with in one day.... don't really know what to expect... I would imagine that after 7+ years if we're not prepared we probably never will be! ?
