Bit scary isn't it! not much going on here this week. We've chosen our cake and sent out our first invitation (just the one because its gone to D's Aunt and Uncle who are away on a cruise and its been sent to them for when they get back before they go away AGAIN in april!)

We're going to the suit shop on saturday for D to decide what he wants and to get measured and costed up.

I need to get the invites ordered i'm still messing about. OH chose his suit and looked gorgeous in it. He has an appointment to go and order it with his brothers at the end on the month. It was the only weekend they could all get down from Manchester to be measured. Ordering bridesmaid dresses saturday. They have all tried them so saturday getting measured. Then I will have to go and sort flowers out next week. I think I really need to pull my finger out a bit now its getting so close. (eek excited!!)

I am pretty much sorted with everything ? just have to pay for it all! We sent our invites out end of February, was too excited

Ha dont blame you. I have sat here for what seems like ages thinking everythings too soon, and there's plenty of time.......and suddenly its nearly here!

Utterly disorganised. Still need to sort rings, flowers, shoes, sthg for hair, cake and invitations. We decided to do a relatively last minute change of venue and date last week, so now need to confirm that and the caterers, organise crockery and glass hire, book the band and think about decorations. I sort of care, but I'm in the middle of a uni course at the mo and that won't finish until July. I have exams and essays galore until the end of April. After that I may think more about the wedding. We are, however, going to look at rings in the Jewellery Quarter on Saturday, and see if we can sort a few things at the wedding show on 17th.

Its starting to come together, got the bridesmaid dresses sorted today, really excited coz they look great, then happened to stumble across some shoes that were in the sale at debenhams, reduced from £28 to £19, bargain and exactly the right colour to match the BM dresses

Hello my fellow august brides!

I remember when i joined our weddings were a million miles away and i always remember looking at peoples tickers and seeing ones that said 5 months until our wedding. I always thought that there would be so much to do at this point and it must be really exciting at that point of planning!

Well now I'm there and i feel like there still not much to do!

Think I must b missing something huge that i am meant to be doing!

I have almost finished my invites but they not going out until may so got plent time!

time is flying! getting excited now. have all the big things sorted, last thing we did were the table decs and the mens suits. Ive finished making all the invites (long!) and now need to write them out and send them in the next couple of weeks - does anyone think this is too early?

other than that we just attending church every other sunday and looking at little bits and bobs like favours etc. xxx

I was advised by several cake makers that for what i wanted i'd be cheaper going to M&S so I'm just doing that.

Yes I am having it made. The top tier will be fake. It will all be sponge and having a seperate fruit cake to cut. I want mine all ivory/white then dusted with glitter so very plain but sparkly. I am paying £275 (I think)

This is our cake, its going to be in palest green though, rather than blue.

My cake will all be sponge cake. Think it bout £100 for the 4 tiers then i'll get ribbon and brooches etc from ebay and my mum will decorate for me.

I wasnt that bothered about a cake so didnt want to spent a lot of money on it.

It will look lovely with the glitter sparkle on yours.

Thats a great price! I know the image I have in my head I just hope it doesn't look tacky! Hopefully, because it will be very plain in colour I will get away with a bit of sparkle.

We are all organised - invites went out a couple of weeks ago, and OH has the first weekend in April scheduled to sort out kilts..flowers, cake, dresses, jewellery, shoes, etc all sorted.... I am just looking for some under wear.

Thanks Sparkly it's a style that I think suits an overseas wedding and UK reception, and not OTT. Makes me feel pretty anyway!

Do you know what I was thinking of starting a thread like this a few mins ago until I stumbled on this one, as I have seen other months doing this!!!

I did have a lul in the WP proceedings!!! BUT now I have got motivated as the 5 month mark approached, it has got better!!!! Yeah So far WP is coming along nicely!

Just sorting out payments and venue decorations. Oh I also plan to send out invites in the next week at the latest. We are half way through doing the list for TOG and playlist for DJ. Sweetie buffet is planned in my head - just got to wait nearer the time to get sweets and chocolate fountain!!!!

We need to finalise everything with registrar in a coulpe of month time. Our rings are sorted so are Mine and OH outfits!
I now have the BM dresses sorted, Just need to sort out their accessories and the Mens ties etc.

We do however still have issues with OH parents Re: OH sister demanding to have her BF there but its famiy only! They just will not listen!!! Its like talking to a brick wall!!! lol

I'm a saddo too then ha. The amount of arguments that this wedding has thrown up is unreal. My mum warned me as soon as I said I was getting married too "get ready for the fun and games". I didnt believe her though grr.

I got my wedding ring for £75 and love it! Need to sort OH's but not going to spend a lot on his either as he cant wear it everday anyway as he works with engines.

Hey Aug brides. So lovely to see all your planning and flashes. You've inspired me to write a to-do list and dates when to be completed by as we are nowhere near organised! We still haven't given notice ekk.

This weekend i'm seeing a band and getting my hair cut somewhere I'm thinking of using so fingers crossed.

Last weekend ordered BM dress yay but tried the cakes we planned to have and they were gross yuck yuck yuck!! So the hunt for cakes being again.

My jobs for this month are; invites, music, give notice, hair and make up - most likely won't complete but hope to have started!

MrsH I loveeeeee Hatton village hall its gorgeous and we tried to get an appointment to view it but noone picked up the phone so ended up somewhere else.

Only have one flash on my work PC so here's my BM dress tho not in the correct colour.. having purple with silver sash

Still got loads to do, but have a few things lined up before the end of the month - seeing our friend who is making the cake next week to discuss it, will hopefully get closer to sorting my wedding ring on the 24th as we have an appointment witha jeweller to see if they can make what I want and OH has a suit fitting on 31st to finally choose what he is wearing.

Really need to get going on other little bits!

Thanks Mrs P2b. We had booked the Fleece Inn at Bretforton, but they started adding charges we weren't expecting and charging the earth for providing very little, so we're "sacking" them! Hatton village hall had a last minute cancellation so we're taking it! Where are you based / getting married?
