    Hey, I'm a late-joining-the-thread August bride! 26th August! Here's where I am....

Sending invites this weekend (thought we were mega late, but perhaps not?!)

Met with a LOVELY florist this afternoon that I am very keen to book.

Sorted menu with venue this week

Have a shortlist of hair and make-up people

Still need to - buy my shoes and accessories, think about place settings, OOD cards etc, sort out OH's, best man and dad's suits, sort out the cake and general decoration/games bits and bobs - is 3 months enough time to do all of this? I hope so!!!

Wow this made me feel a bit ? I keep being told by my OH its ages away and everything will be sorted but its almost here.

Well 28th of August We had planned for next year but my grans not well so its been moved forward by 18 months lol.

    Just sent the invites out.

Ive got my dress just got to book a fitting but need to wait till i can cope with the weight of it (I had a knee op a month ago and am still a bit unsteady on my leg)

The suits for the best man and my OH are waiting to be picked up and the ushers are sorting there own I just needs to get ties for all the men.

We have the church and venue booked and food is sorted she just needs numbers.

Went and picked the flowers and paid for them and have found the rings but cant cope with town in this heat ? Am heading to get the little BM dresses next week now they have all the sizes in stock.

Im taking the view that ive got a dress hes got a suit and we have a church so if nothing else we can get married. ?

Can I ask is anyone else worried about the heat and the dress?

Oh yes. But at the same time, there's no guarantee this weather will continue for the next three months so it could well be tipping it down on august bank holiday.

I am worried that it will be hot and my flabby thighs will be all gross and rub together under the dress. Sorry if TMI but I wore a skirt to work the other day without tights and could feel it ? no matter how much exercise I do, I know I will always have those wobbly leg bits that touch. I am thinking lots of talc before the dress goes on might help!

Cant believe that we are all at this stage!

This year has gone so fast!

Once all the invite replies are back I need to do my table plan.

Still got bridesmaid accessories and shoes to buy.

Maybe 2 flower girl outfits (long story but wont be buying these til july.)

    Present for BM and pageboys.

Games to buy/bouncy castle to hire

Cake to sort. Had it sorted but cant get hold of the woman that was doing it so think i will go back to my original plan of M&S.

i'M not really worried bout it tho. Just really excited.

Thats what im scared of ?I'm not a huge fan of the heat anyway but at the same time I dont want it to ring cause im worried about slipping thanks to my daft knees. ☹️ think im gonna cut the feet off a pair of skin tights and put them on under my dress. im sure we will all be ok come rain

Fiona, I thought about doing something similar. I don't really want tights on and stockings obviously won't reach my fat thighs. Am still pondering this.

Fiona that's a really good idea! Hadn't thought of that thanks. The only thing would then be if the tights just made me feel hotter and even more uncomfy, might have a little practise.

How are we all getting on? ?

? EEEK 67 days to go until our big day!!! ?

Has anyone else have any problems with RSVPs? We sent out our invites at the beginning of march with an RSVP of 9th June as our venue want final numbers 6 weeks before the wedding plus they told us to leave a couple of weeks of chasing RSVPs. Up until today we have only had a handful of RSVPs back! Getting worried now as theres 2 weeks until RSVP return date! ?

    68 'till mine then!!!

We had our RSVP date as the end of June but we've hadhadly any back and really it's more from people we knew were going anyway. A bti surprised with some that haven't - they are usually pretty reliable but they are the same ones not responding to the stag and hen do's either. I feel I can't really chase until the date otherwise what was hte point of putting a date. Mind you I now wish I'd made it earlier as I wasn't thinking of all the things that are relying on numbers/names before I can tick them off as a completed job.

I can't decide whether to wear a veil or not really. I'm not sure whether it will look too fussy with having a bolero as well.

It was a long process but we've finally just put together all our readings and music for the ceremony, hurray. I don't know why but it was really hard choosing songs and finding appropriate readings, it took ages.

Oh no another name change to remember! DWC please don't change your ticker style as well or I will be clueless!

In reference to the chaffage (chafage sp?) issue, the DWers had a thread going about it and I discovered there is a special gel and special shorts that are like the top portion of tights you can wear to prevent such a thing. I have ebayed and will be trialling the gel as soon as it arrives (weather permitting).

I have 69 days to go, just had make up trial and nothing much else to do until the 23rd when it is my hen. Between now and then I would like to get all my GCSE scripts marked as well as lose around 3-4lbs and then get back on wedding stuff!

We are August 2012 Brides and just thought we would join the chat! ?

Pretty much sorted now, just got a few bits and bobs to sort/buy

Then its remembering who to pay and when!!

Being two girls our wedding planning has been quite well organised, I'd love to say on budget but the budget sort of goes out the window as you go along!!!

The trickiest part was choosing songs, and also the seating plan!!! oh and also taming my mother ️?️

In this weather I really can be bother to plan a wedding so I'm hoping that all the little things will either plan theirselves or they can wait till it rains (shouldnt be too long in scotland).

I'm enjoying all the invite replies coming back in the now. Quite surprised how organised some people are. We have had 10 replies in the first week. I only gave people to 11th June to reply as I think the longer you give them the longer it takes them!

Gemma&chantelle - are you both waering dresses and if you are have you seen each others or know anything about each others?

Can I add myself to this thread?!

We were originally getting married next August in this country but changed the plans to Vegas & moved the date forward to this year! 24th August which will be our 4th anniversary, probably the worst time to go to a desert but I love the idea of getting married on an important date.

Haven't really done too much planning for it yet but thats the beauty of Vegas right?! I did manage to buy a dress at the weekend though... For £100! A sale dress & will need some alterations. The original plan was to pick one out in Vegas but for £100 you can't really go wrong!

Heading over to Vegas in a few weeks to celebrates my OHs 30th & do some wedding planning. Can't wait!

The down side with bringing the wedding forward is I thought I had some much more time to get my beauty regime down.

Its alright i'm really rather attached to my lovely pair of ladybirds. I luff them.

Whats the name of the gel/shorts? this may of be great use to me! I get terrible chaffing ?

I'm still waiting for the call about my dress and getting rather fed up of waiting now. I need to know when it will be in so I can plan when i'll be having fittings as it has to fit around my work hours which are odd. I also need to know so I can actually book make up and hair trials as well. If I could choose my dress again, I would definitely be buying it down here and not three hours away in Preston. That was the stoopidest thing I've done I think.

Hmm that is extra stress for you having to make a 3 hour trip, how come you ended up getting it in Preston?

The gel is called something like Lancane, I have put the links below for what I found on the Bay of E, much cheaper than elsewhere.

OOh date twin! We are Sunday 26th too! I feel like there is loads still to do but when i think i'll get on with something, there is nothing i can actually do at the moment IYSWIM! Think most of the things waiting to be done need to be done nearer the time now. I have a terrible habit of checking and double checking everything and everyone though and am having to really force myself to not keep ringing people like the florist, photographer, cake lady etc just to check everything is okay when I have already checked and nothing will have changed since last time I spoke to them.

We're getting married in Preston and our parents live there. So I went home so that I could go dress shopping with mum. Now however it means I have to traipse back and forward for fittings!

Right, I've ordered myself some of that anti-chafing cream. I love hitched for tips like those and to know I'm not alone in my worries about stuff!

Mamavonsponge, where are you getting married? I'm not far from Royston and am getting married just down the road, in Melbourn!
