See my post near the top of this page for what we've done so far - we've got all the major things sorted! We got engaged at new year, so have had nearly 9 months of wedding planning. We moved quite quick after booking the church and reception venue to get the important things booked, and we've been lucky in that we got our first choice on all the suppliers as we booked quite far in advance, although I think having it on a Friday has helped! :-)

Wow Mrs.K2b you've done loads! I feel even more disorganised now haha

Have the rest of you August brides sent your save the dates out yet? I read somewhere they should be sent 8-10 months before ideally, but seeing as some of you have already sent them I'm thinking I should get a move on? I suppose it is the summer holidays as well!

Currently in the process of sending save the dates this week as they arrived from printers at the weekend. I don't feel it's too early, what with the wedding next year being in summer holidays. And at the time of booking venue (August '14) OH aunt & uncle had already booked their holiday for 2015 which covers the whole of August 15 (cruise), so we already know they can't come. Decided to get on to the STDs incase there were any other eager holiday bookers!

Personally I think its a no brainer to send save the dates out if you're getting married in the summer and even more so in our circle because most of our friends are in the emergency services - I kept mine so simple, just took a nice photo of my ring with i do in scrabble letters!! Now my wedding invitations.... completely different and probably way OTT but I think its the one thing I really am allowed to go OTT on given my business!

I am starting to realise that my budget is slowly creeping up.... anyone else having that problem?

It's so exciting planning everything, and even though it feels like it's AGES away, it's going to pass in a blur! I remember it well! I even know some people who are already planning 2016 weddings! x

I sent my save the dates out ages ago. Might have been a bit early but I know some family members were planning weddings for next year and some were planning big holidays so I wanted to get in there first!

11 months to go today, still haven't booked my hair and makeup and haven't even began dress shopping yet.

Found, bought, delivered and fits (almost)... a little tight but am only a few pounds off my goal so not even stressing about that haha!

I was told a 6 month delivery on my dress and it arrived in 2 weeks... couldn't believe it!

I've heard it can take up to 8 months for delivery, then to leave three months for fittings so definitely not too early. ?

Hey girls! Hope you are all well! Got a question r.e. Invites - when are you sending them out and how long are you giving to RSVP? Interested to know for both day and evening guests xXx

    Hey!!

I've already sent out save the dates, my invites are going out in the new year as we have 50% of our guest list who work in emergency services.

I'll be asking for RSVPs back no later than 3 months before... but the evening list can be 1 month before as we don't need to commit to food numbers till the week before.

Usually my brides do 6 months before wedding for sending out, and 3 months before wedding date for RSVPs, and send out evening 4-6 months before and ask for RSVPs no later than 1 month before.

If someone is making your invites for you, the double check their timescales as some people say 12 week + timescales - its scary how fast these months are flying by!

Anyone going to the wedding show at the NEC this weekend?

    Laura xx

Hi, my date is 22nd August. You ladies are so organised! So far, we have booked the venue and registrar. Also bought wedding insurance. We have started to look at photographers, hoping to book one very soon. I have also started thinking about wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. Hoping to get a lot done this year so we get this year's prices. Starting to feel very real, now the one year countdown has started.

    We're the 22nd too!

Send the dates went out ages ago, as we're only having a small wedding, so wanted people to make sure it was kept free in advance. Invites will be going out in the new year.

Dress & shoes bought, venue, caterers, photography, hair & make up booked. Bouquets & jewellery ordered & did have the cake sorted, but the lady has now stopped making them,so returned the deposit. Spent the weekend coming up with menu options to speak to the caterer tomorrow. Oh & 1(possibly 2) bridesmaid dresses bought.

I have a bag in the spare room filling up with little bits I pick up or make. Struggling with centrepiece ideas though.

Has anyone given notice yet? When are you planning on going? My h2b has to get the day off to do it & so is happy to leave it for the time being....

The taking a day off is annoying. I've booked it in for November as we have a day off then anyway for another reason, so killing two birds with one stone. Otherwise we'd have saved it until some time in 2015 when we no doubt have to book another day off for something else like caterers etc

    Hi ladies,

How are we all doing? Ticked another couple of things off the list this week -

Bridesmaid dresses http://www.coast-stores.com///coast/fcp-product/18339 although they haven't all tried them on yet - will report back on Sunday! Older bridesmaids in the maxi, and younger ones are wearing the short versions.

I bought some nude lace Jimmy Choo's but thought they were a bit boring in design, so I designed to get some blingy ones instead!!! My first pair of Choo's so naturally was a bit excited! Glad i decided to go for the bling ones instead

    http://www.jimmychoo.com/en/women/shoes/lottie/champagne-glitter-fabric-sandals-247lt7gfa30835.html#start=9&cgid=bridalboutique-bride&searchgridpos=9

Had some quotes for casino tables, but still haven't started my own stationery - however, have just taken someone on part time to work on my stationery business - so might actually find some free time in November to get mine done.

Starting to go off the DIY idea for manzanita trees as I just don't have anywhere to put them!

    Hi

I am an August 2015 bride, get married on the 30th. So far I have the venue, Registrar, TOG, Videoman, Dress, Bridesmaid Dresses, Groomswear, Hired a Dancefloor, Band, found someone to do the Chair covers out and Centre Piece, flowers. I am in the middle of getting samples for my invitation.

I think I am going to leave the rest to next year when I will sort the flowergirls and page boys out and sort the favours, which I still have no idea what to do.

How are all your plans coming along?

    xx

I've still got loads to do. Having a nightmare finding someone to do hair and makeup, the person I want is booked and no one else seems to get back to me. I've started making the invitations but my printer inks just ran out so I have to wait until payday for that. I've got 3 appointments at wedding dress shops for Saturday so hopefully I'll find my dress then.
