Last big thing was we booked our honeymoon yesterday! That was the last biggy we wanted to do this side of 2014. Everything else we're leaving until 2015, is that crazy?
We'll look into invitations soon so they're ready to go out Feb but that's about it. Groom & usher suits he wants to wait for, rings will be january time, i can't think of much else that's urgent? I hope that's not crazy, but with 9 working weeks til christmas, we're both busy with work, and then will be busy with christmas. I do worry forgotten something major :s but we've booked all our suppliers & done my dress & BM dresses so it's only invites & rings which i believe could be next important....?
Cache13, we are getting married on the 1st too only decided a few weeks ago, so all we have done is booked venue and caterer. My bro is going to do the photography and I'm hoping to do a lot of handmade decorations. Got an idea for my dress and given bridesmaids some styles to choose from. Everyone sounds very well organised. Got some catching up to do!
Gave notice to council today for our Aug wedding. The church (who had to sign a paper for the council) thought we were crazy doing it so far in advance; personally i don't think it is that advance. We struggle with time off work and we had today off for another reason so made sense to book it in. In and out in about 25 mins, another job done!
We gave notice too a few weeks ago, we just wanted it out the way and have another thing paid for! Nothing wrong with being organised in this busy day and age!!
I've done quite a bit the last month so starting to feel a bit more organised now
Up to now I have:
Booked the venue and registrar
Bought my dress
Booked the photographer
Booked the DJ
Booked the florist
Ordered our cake
Ordered bridesmaid dresses
Hired a company to decorate the venue
Ordered save the dates - planning to send them out with Christmas cards!
Picked our invitations - ordering them very soon!
Chosen our centrepieces
Is there anything else I should have definitely done by now? I'm usually the most disorganised person ever so to have done this much is very impressive for me!
How is everyone getting on with there
planning, I think once xmas is over it, it will fly by! I have decided
to take a break from wedding planning and have a couple of stress free
weeks.
I think I have all the main bits booked and sorted! When are you all sending invites out?
We are sending invites out beginning of March with RSVP end of April. The invites are all done, in boxes in the living room ready to go! Eeekkkkk. Holding out til March will be hard lol.

I'm sending mine out as soon as I've actually designed them (Mid Jan I reckon). We have so many friends in the emergency services, so they need as much notice as possible but I have just been sooooo busy doing everyone else's stationery that I haven't even had time to think about my own.
Things went a bit crazy busy when the new website went live... looking forward to a few days off over Christmas and doing some wedding planning
Not long till we can all say we get married "this year"!!! H2b and I just exchanged cards with "fiancé" etc on... made me smile to think next Christmas we're going to be married!! EEEK!!
Still got quite a bit to sort - venue styling is a big priority for me on the to do list next.
Invites are next on my list, hope to send out beginning of march and RSVP by end of May. But we've had a potential screw up with our ceremony (they're now saying they can't change the time to 12:30, but 1pm will make it much too late to get to our reception), so until that is sorted i can't do anything! Really worried as if it can't move time I will have to look seriously into moving the ceremony, which i don't want to have to do at this late stage, and a few suppliers - cars, MUA, TOG, string quartet - are all booked with that ceremony venue in mind. It's internally panicking me so much, but trying not to think about it. Got an appointment in mid January to discuss it with them so keeping everything crossed for then ?
All got sorted with my ceremony time so I'm pleased with that, and it now means the invitations can go ahead! I've ordered them from a website with half DIY (so everything cut and printed i just need to stick them together). Hoping they arrive February which gives me most of Feb to make them, to start posting in first week of March. The RSVP is 31st May - venue don't need to know numbers until 8 weeks before, so this gives me 4 weeks to chase up any late RSVPs.
Also booked an appointment with Smooch rings for February to get some ideas flowing for the rings we want. Hoping to have a call about my dress arriving soon also, but that's juts me hoping!
I'm making my invites at the moment so hoping to get them finished ready to send out end of Feb. Need to decide what I'm doing about flowers (probably going with artificial). Also got to book in for my dress fitting and sort out when we're having our engagement shoot. Still got loads left to do to be honest. Suits and rings need to be done as well.
But there is so much I still have to do! The invitations are made and the inserts are being written this week. We then have a meeting with the caterer to decide on the menu choices so taht we can put that in with the invites. Then we need to put an information pack together and hopefully the invites will go out mi-February. Towards the end of February me, my mum and the BM's have a meeting with a dressmaker to talk about making the bridesmaids dresses. I still need to get shoes, veil, underwear and tiara for myself. I also need to sort decorations for the Venue, (this is my biggest stress at the moment,)gifts, evening invitations, table centres, table plan etc etc
I though I was really organised, but now I've made a list I realise how much I still have to do!
We've had the first draft our invite design through, it's amazing! We have our menu tasting at the venue in a couple of weeks, so once that's done and we've chosen our menu options we should be good to go with the invites ready to send out in March! I've finally sorted out hair and make up too, a huge relief as it was weighing on my mind and didn't have a clue where to find someone! I'm really pleased with her though, she's doing both hair and make up, her work looks really good and prices were fab too. Only major things now to sort are suits for the guys (probably Moss Bros), rings and minimoon!
Less than 200 days to go for us all now!! Where's everyone up to? Over the past couple of weeks we've sorted out table runners and bunting for the marquee & gardens, wedding rings we've both got our shoes now, ordered the cake topper from Kharv, and we're off to pay the deposit for the guys suits on Thursday! Just have bridesmaids dresses to sort out, minimoon, kids activity packs and gifts to sort out now! I emailed all the information to our stationer at the weekend so the invites should be done in the next couple of weeks :-)
1 more bridesmaid dress bought & another on the way to be tried on, with a shopping trip planned for later this week. Got an evening dress from the high street for me as well.
Invites have gone out & had half the rsvps back already & just waiting on the rest. We got lots of compliments on them as well, so really pleased as we used Vistaprint for them.
String quartet booked for the ceremony, finalising the quote for the centrepieces & room decorations & then that is most things booked. Also had our hair & makeup trial, my hair needs tweaking (but needs cutting to do what I want), but the girls are all happy with theirs.
Need to sort out their jewellery gifts & persuade my h2b to go & look at suits! Also need to get his wedding ring. Then it's just the little bits.
Spent Sunday turning the paper petals I'd made ages ago into flowers, but not entirely sure what to do with them now....might put one on each bed with a welcome pack. Need to make some more paper hearts as am going to string them from the bannister. Also DIY'ed hangers for the girls. I'm not very crafty, but ever so often like to do things like that.
Just finishing off the invitations to go out by the end of Feb. Need to decide what to do about flowers and get something sorted. Oh needs to sort suits and get his ring but he's not going to do that until April. Dress fitting and hair and makeup trials are booked I just need to arrange an appointment with the venue because I haven't heard from them yet and we need to arrange the engagement shoot. Then it's just deciding on a cake, buying gifts and sorting venue decorations.
I keep telling my oh to get his suits sorted, hes not having a suit as hes in the paras but 3 of his groomsmen are and he goes away for 8 weeks at beginning of march!
i only need to find a car for myself now and i think i have chosen everything, just a matter of paying balances and diy'ing
We sent out most of our day invitations this week, (the rest are being hand delivered.) We've decided on our menu, just need to book in a tasting now - I love food, free food is even better! Need to get w riggle on and sort out rings, but we do have a couple of appointments booked to see various jewellers. I do wish, though, that my OH would make a decision on what he's going to wear and sort it out! I know we've got jsut over 5 months, but that doesn't seem like a very long time and it's about the thing I've asked him to organise and he still hasn't done it! (And breathe!)
I go between excitment and nerves and panic at how quick the time is going! First installment to the venues supposed to be due on Monday but i haven't heard from them since we booked.
MrsFitt my oh's the same, he won't sort any of his outfit yet, I wanted it done so I'd know how much of the budget it would eat up but he just thinks the whole wedding can be organised in one weekend lol
I'm massively excited and randomly well up whenever I think about the day itself and I imagine how it's going to go. I change between, 'I can't beleive how quickly the time is going' and 'how come it's still 5 months until our wedding?!' about 10 times a day!
People keep telling me it's just over 5 months... Like I don't know! lol. I'm pretty much sorted with everything except bridesmaid dresses and the car. My mum is supposed to be cracking on with the invitations but doesn't seem to be getting very far! Has everyone already sent theirs out??
Aww Gavin & Stacey is such a wonderful show. We watched it all together, reminded me of us sometimes, we dated long distance for a year (between Germany and the UK).
We are looking at two more venues this weekend and I have contacted two additional venues that I hope we can see... also having a call with the photographer I'd like tonight.
I will be so happy once the venue and photographer are booked.
