August Brides - How we all doing!?

HELLO DATE TWIN!

its all starting to feel very real since New Year has been and gone and its given me the kick up the bum I needed to get going again. Since Christmas I have ordered the bridesmaids shoes and about to order their dresses. I have ordered all the materials I need to make the invites so will get on with that over the next month or so as I am making them myself. Also ordered our post box and guest book and have just received an email from the church with our Banns dates and other details, very exciting!

I know, really really feels real, Im trying my hardest to loose weight, Ive nearly a stone and a half to loose, So Im getting there Fingers crossed!

I'm having the dresses made by a dressmaker, so just waiting the colour swatches of the colour Blue she's ordered,

I'm prebooked the chair covers and flowers but have not discussed what flowers I want yet,

Ive bought a whole load of stuff over the last few weeks and I'm hoping to get started making samples of wedding ivites when i have a few days off next week.

I'm hoping to get our rings soon too. Have googled till my head spins so know roughly what i want. Want to go away for a day and look and try on.

Also need to start looking for a bra and find a seamstress to alter my beloved dress!

Everything big now booked including our honeymoon! Woohoo!?

all smaller details now need to be sorted, including choosing flowers, invites etc. Think i've found a bargainous sparkly headband which i will buy soon, and hopefully will be borrowing my cousin's beautiful veil and my mum's pearl jewellery. Cake needs ordering but i think we're just going for Marks and spencers individual tiers because lets face it, it is only going to get eaten. Cake is cake. Must get D's outfit and wedding ring sorted at easter I think.

Other than that its just nailing down timings and menus at the reception venue and putting together the hymns and readings for our ceremony.

Its all so exciting!

Sounds like everything is coming together really well! I feel a bit behind, mainly because I haven't got much time this month to do anything wedding-y. Have already got venue, dress and photographer but nothing else! What I have done is buy quite a few little bits - vases and things for centrepieces, stationery bits for home-making invitations. Also since a lot of my friends are helping me out, I've agreed various things like petticoat and veil to be made, vague idea on flowers, firming up what the cake will be like and buying little accessories for the cupcakes. But once I've got more time, need to get on with the big stuff like booking the DJ, choosing the menu and getting the bridesmaids sorted!

Everything I can think of is booked, just need to find clothes for Part Une of the hen (Paris trip) decide and plan my UK hen, finish paying off our rings which should be delivered in March and post out the invites at the right time. Oh and lose 12 pounds or so! Started 30 day shred yesterday but no way can I do it again today, think I will have to do every other day. Trying to decide on the right style tiara was driving me mad, but mum says she has bought me the perfect one as a surprise so looking forward to seeing that! Hmmm... wonder what else I am missing?

Edit - to answer my last question it seems I am missing my ticker! Wonder where that has gone to, it was there yesterday (exactly 7 months eeeek!)

We´ve got most of the big things done - venue, caterer, TOG and band but that´s about it.

I went dress shopping for the first time yesterday which was really exciting and have got another appointment next week. My job for this weekend is to finalise the website (thought it would be handy as we´re getting married in Italy) and print out all of the STDs which I´ve designed myself.

I´m really starting to panic about how much there is to do!

Men still need to sort the suits and need to sort table decs and then all the other little bits and bobs. getting married in surrey xx

Eeee excited. Can't believe how quick August seems to be approaching.

We've sorted venue, catering, church, tog, my dress and shoes, bridesmaid dresses jewellry, suits for OH etc, centrepieces, favours, cake, my MIL2B is doing my hair so that's sorted, sweetie buffet, chair covers, flowers, photobooth, DJ, honeymoon.
Sorting the invitations out between now and March so they can be sent in April. My step-dad is doing them for me. I need to print my RSVP cards and order of services and do table plan, place cards etc but that's all things that can't be done yet.

Phewwww that sounds a lot. And I'm sure there's things I've forgotten. Will be here before we know it though.

We booked with Turquoise Holidays, They have been Amazing!

Ive been Thailand 4 times so I know what to expect, all other times have been backpacking so this time is five * hotels all the way!

Going for about 19-20 days

Bangkok 1st, then Koh Samui and KOh Phangan, Just cant wait!!!!

I've booked our honeymoon this week and set up our honeymoon gift list. I've also just sent all the details to the lady making our invitations so she can get started with them

I've still got to choose my tiara, book a bucking bronco, buy my shoes and underwear and then get thinking about what we are going to give as gifts to the bridal party and family. Oh and I thought I had my hair and makeup person sorted but they've just come back with a quote of £500 (!) so I need to try and find someone else which is a huge task as I'm such a fuss pot!

I'm very excited as just had confirmation that our banns are being read in both churches at the beginning of june, the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th. Very exciting!

Slightly thick question, I thought banns only had to be done for 3 weeks?

Yep, they are being read in two different churches. The one we're getting married in on the 3rd, 10th and 17th, and the church of the parish that we live in on the 10th, 17th and 24th.

Hello everyone happy new/ Wedding year !!

We did a lot in August last year when everything big was booked. Not done much since then I am trying to get excited again all feels a long way off - wish it was sooner. i'm sure I wont be saying that once it all kicks off again. We Still need chair covers, flowers, shoes - mine I'm looking forward to that bit! Table decorations, invites. I'm sure there is more but can't think ATM. The one thing we are really stuck on is our first dance! Our song is 'This sex is on fire' !!! Not really appropriate but we are really struggling to choose one that is - any suggestions gratefully received. ?

I know, I was gutted when they said £500! That is for me and 3 bridesmaids but its still way over what I was expecting!

I'll definitely be on the bucking bronco in my dress - we went to a wedding that had one and it was hilarious, it really got everyone chatting and mingling. Our venue has the potential to be a bit stuffy so we thought we'd lighten it up a bit xx
