August Brides - where are we upto?

You are doing better then us. invites are nearly done should be able to send out in next couple of weeks havent done order of service. haven't even arranged to do the mens suits too many to get together in one go. adult BM dresses are done but still need 4 younger ones too hard to decided on them think we are having them made now. also haven't sorted my hair and make up or transport other then that we are pretty much sorted.

Oh dear, you seen now this is when I begin to panic a bit with all that I have to do and where to start???..I've sorted my dress, bm's dress, photographer and hair etc..but that's about it oh no its not, ive got all the replies back, but that is it...ive a shed load to do still...I've got a couple of manic weeks trying to get 2 assignments submitted then I'll crack on..xxx

Well apart from the catholic church torturing me, and changing photographer most things are going ok, invites have gone out and had most of the RSVPs are back which is good. Got my evening dress yesterday and bought most of the decorative items. pretty much as planned at his point though i wish we would hurry up and buy the rings!

Flowegirl dresses are ordered, just waiting until June time when I am happy they won't grow too much and I can order them

My sample bridesmaid dress should arrive at lunchtime today - and we are going to go visit the Birmingham dress lady mid-end of April to sort the bridesmaid dresses (leaving it as long as we can as one BM only gave birth in Jan).

OHs suit is stressing me out - he gets married in uniform and we are still waiting for permission to come through for him to wear it so it can be tailored. Bought him a Tux this weekend for his Evening dress as he won't want to wear uniform all night.

Got a meeting with the venue in 2 weeks to finalise food, table plans etc.

Basically got a million and one things on the list, but all are teeny little jobs.

My next thing is to find ties for the males in the bridal party!

Other than that I have 68 things left on my to do list! hmmm

Just ordered my invites from Prettywild though - I'm so excited!!

Also finally found something to wear in my hair and I've just been told that my earrings were dispatched on Saturday!

Am off for my first dress fitting on the 26th as well!!

@ Pheonix - How exciting. My dress isn't in until Mid June, so no chance of any fittings yet!

I need to get back ontop of our To-do list as it has well over 80 items on it at the moment - all little bits and pieces! Nightmare!

Oh and now we have to change the venue...but that should be sorted this week and the invites/OOS/place cards will be done by next weekend. BM shopping this weekened. Centrepieces...we'll see!

Sounds like a nightmare Izzy - I can't imagine changing our venue at this late notice ?.

You sound like your handling it a lot better than I would though.

It'll all be alright on the night I'm sure. I don't see the point in worrying tbh, it has to be changed and we have a couple of options both free on our date so just have to pop over to view final place this week then will decide. Once that's done I can drop florist/tog etc etc a line to let them know new venue and presto! Is partly why the invites aren;t done yet!

I've tons to do!

Already got - the dress, church, venue and tog booked, attended wedding prep day at church, invites are designed but need printing - diodn't like the quality of print at the first place we went to, jewellery got, OH has finally decided he will buy a suit not hire, rings got, but mine needs resizing and the shape changed a little, I've started making the flowers for my bouquet, got shoes but need to bling them up.

Need to - print and post invites, O of S, finish bouquet, make button holes, centre pieces, table plans, find lawn games, sort menu, sort my ring, but OH's suit, sort ties, deside on music, and so on! so much to do...

I've got the majority of the big stuff down it's more little bits although I have an exam on 14th April so wedding stuff has gone on hold. We are also desparately trying to sell our house so I can't make the house too messy and I need space to sort all the invites etc out. Hoping it will go soon and I'll have a nice little wedding room in the new house!!!

I feel like we are finally getting there now. I have a dress alteration appointment on 26th April and then we are giving notice on 27th April. I need to find the H2B a purple waistcoat to go with his suit and other than that, it's a case of paying for the catering (4 weeks before) and buying the disposable cameras!

The invitations are made up and addressed, I just need to get them sent out at the weekend once my Dad has checked the guest list for any missing people! It's all money money money now. This month I've got to pay the outstanding balance for the flowers, giving notice, H2B's wedding ring and the deposit for my engagement ring alteration and wedding ring!

Not feeling too panicky....yet!!! Have got my dress, just needs altering about 6-8 weeks before, given notice on the wedding ages ago, sorted men's suits and ordered rings (they should have been here last month, must ring them!!), paid deposit on bridesmaids dresses (adult), they are getting measured on Saturday. Going to find the little bridesmaid dress in Easter as she never stops growing! Invites are being made as we speak and they need to go out the beginning of April, sorted table decs n menus, OOS, etc just need to decide on favours as I can't decide what to do with them! Booked cars, videographer and DJ 2 yrs ago so they are fine.

Will start to panic soon I think as the replies start to arrive - I am jealous others have had their meeting with their venue - mine won't be for ages yet!! My venue doesn't do it until about 8 weeks before n we still have 20 weeks yet ☹️

Hope I haven't forgotten anything vital!

Pretty much all sorted. according to my time line, i have the following to do:-

Meet venue 19/3 - with 3 pages of questions!
Final music / ceremony choices to Registrar
Go shopping with BMs (step daughters) to buy shoes, hair bands etc
Hair/make up trial (booked)
Dress fittings me
Dress fittings BMs
Bouquet choices to Florist
Fitting for OH suit
Final figures to Venue
Meet with Photog for walk through

I really need to crack on with writting my invites - but I am so uninspired to get on with it - boring! ?

Other highlights are making the table numbers, OoS to be ordered (if the Vicar bothers to approve them). Although after i'd drafter them I found out my uncle no longer wants to do our reading - so glad I held off on that one. Might hold off until 3/4 weeks before on that one, just in case.

I've sorted dress, flowers, ceilidh band, my ring, favours and centrepieces, veil and shoes. Invitations are being printed and sent this week.

Biggies still to do are OH's suit and ring, bridesmaid dresses (plus one of them has just told me she's pregnant so that will be a bit more tricky, and the other is refusing to look yet as she says she needs to go on a diet first. Not that she's known about being a bridesmaid for the last 8 months or anything, grr!) I think most of the rest are smaller details, or non urgent, though there are plenty of them!

Everyone seems so organised!!! my list is as follows.

1. write invites
2. Post invites
3. organise dress fittings
4. organise hair trials
5. organise cake (friends mum is making it)
6. sort out what flowers i want (a lady in work is doing them she used to own her own florists)
7. Get the forms into the registrar so we can get the marriage forms

~I hate writting it down cause it shows how much i have to do!!!!!

@ cheeky pie - i've just started writitng my invites today. We don't have enough but I have another batch of 50 coming in the post shortly.

I wasn't planning on sending them until mid-May time, with RSVP deadline of 30 June.

Everyone else seems to be sending theirs earlier though and with a Friday wedding, tempted to send them Mid-april now.

I'm going to send mine as soon as they are ready!

My best friedn is getting married on the 16th May so want to wait till here wedding is over before i send mine out!!! Mine is a Monday wedding but i sent out save the dates so most people know when it is lol!! Since i never shut up about it lol!!! xx

Yep we send Save the dates to the important people too - so hopefully it won't be too much of a problem.

I just don't people to RSVP and then forget about it as they RSVP'd so far in advance. That said our invites have matching fridge magnets so no one should forget!
