Where you all going?? We were originally thonking Cuba, but haven't heard good things from people that have been there! Then we thought about St Lucia, but its hurricane season so dont want to go & have bad weather. Now we are thinking of Hawaii or Abu Dhabim but so undecided! We get married on 27th august so want to go on honeymoon on the 29th august x

We were actually at the travel agents yesterday looking at ideas for our honeymoon in Sep. We are actually getting married in Aug but wanted to avoid the school holidays.

He basically advised that the caribbean and most of SE Asia is out due to monsoon season although Thailand is probably ok. A couple of places he recommended were Seychelles or the Maldives or a safari in South/East Africa coupled with some islands in the Indian ocean. A cheaper option he recommended was Sri Lanka.

However we are most likely going to end up going to Hawaii with maybe Sri Lanka or Florida as an alternative option if its too expensive.

What are you interests? That might help narrow it down!

We're going to Lido di Jesolo, a beach resort near Venice, at the end of August. Lots of time to relax but also do sight seeing in Venice.

We're going to Kuala Lumpur for 3 nights then Bali for 10 nights. The weather in KL might be rainy but we're doing that as a city break, then the weather in Bali will be glorious!!!

Ps can't speak from experience but when we were in Trailfinders looking for our honeymoon, we overheard one of the staff telling another couple that Hawaii in the summer isn't the best place for a honeymoon at all - didn't catch why though sorry!

I think the best weather in Hawaii is meant to be Apr, May, Sep and Oct. So maybe he was referring to Jun/Jul when he meant summer as the weather probably isn't as good then

We're off to Bali in September for our honeymoon. It's apparently one of the best months to go!

Thanks for your replies! We just want somewhere hot, luxurious & we want to just totally relax for 2 weeks. With Hawaii you have to pick the right island (there are six islands) maybe they went to the wrong island? As I know Maui is the best island for honeymooners x

I've been to Sri Lanka and Malaysia in August before and it was beautiful and sunny most days. In KL particularly it would rain every afternoon at about 3pm for 15-20mins, huge thunderstorm type rain. Then it would stop as soon as it started and go back to being sunny again really quickly. It diddnt affect the holiday at all- we just would shelter in a bar during those times.

We get married on 1st August this year and depart for our honeymoon on the 3rd. We're doing 3 days in Singapore and 11 in Bali (7 by the beach and 4 in the mountains)

    Can't wait!

We get married Sunday 10th August and go on honeymoon on the tuesday 12th. I know when we're going and for how long but not where! OH has planned the whole thing with the help of his parents which is a massive surprise as he's not the romantic kind usually!! Kind of wishing I knew where as packing will be a nightmare!!

We very nearly booked Bali as it is a good time to go, but wanted All In which we couldn't find much of there. We ended up booking Jamaica as it's got quite low rainfall for that time of year considering it's Hurricane season and compared to the like of St Lucia etc.

We have booked to go to Hawaii for two weeks in August followed by a week in San Francisco. We are staying on the Big Island whilst in Hawaii, firstly in Turtle Bay and then in Honolulu. The Big Island is best for us as we won't be having a car and it's easier to travel around. We'll take some day trips over to Maui and Oahu whilst there. As for the weather, summer is supposed to be fantastic and the temperatures are pretty consistent all year round Smiley smile

If you go to Hawaii - a good tip is to fly to Seattle/west coast america and get a connecting flight on alaska airlines to honollulu as its so cheap! $200 return flights from Bellington, Seattle airport! Then you can spank all the savings on shopping 'n' good food when you're there!! Smiley smile

Other destinations...Costa rica...or canada is just beyond amazing!! Rockies in the summer, vancouver island, paradise!!!

We're climbing into our new motor home and heading off through France for two weeks, with no specific destinations in mind - we'll just wander where we fancy.
