autumn colours

lizziewoo, 17 September, 2010 at 08:59 Posted on Planning 0 7

We're thinking of the 1st of october 2011 (If we can get the venue then), and at first I wanted something bright. Turquoise is one of my fave colours so I was decided on that, but now I'm having second thoughts. I would still like something bright and fresh (I would have loved a summer wedding but H2B can't live without cricket for a day) however something that would go better with the time of year. I've got 2 bm and a moh, and im now thinking a different colour for each, I dont know though, any suggestions?

    I've got a date twin!

We tried for autumn colours too - we've ended up with Claret and Gold. There is also some lovely greens (Hunter Green is a lovely colour) but I didn't fancy green flowers!

Here's some autumn colour charts which I looked at:

A few ideas of previous work I have done that might give you some inspiration:

You can have any colour you want. It doesn't matter if you have 'spring' or 'summer' colours in autumn! Our wedding is 22nd Oct 2011, I'm having a red dress and my partner will be in a blue kilt. It didn't even occur to me to go for 'seasonal' colours for autumn.

I suppose the only thing you might have to consider is what flowers your florist will be able to source if you're having fresh flowers, but most florists can get almost any flower if your budget will stretch. I'm having artificial flowers so I'm not restricted.

If you love turquoise gor for it, you can have cream flowers and accent with ribbon or feathers for a bouquet if you want.

Jude you are my date twin!!

We were first having purple and silver until we chose the venue and have now gone with champagne gold, ivory with a hint of purple as the room for the dinner is very dark with wood panelling so purple would have brought it down too much if we'd incorporated it too much. I'm now hoping to have jade green bridesmaids dresses as well but by having a base of champagne gold and ivory I've found I can bring complementing colours in.

I think your venue has a lot to do with the colours as if you have a blank canvas then you can go with what you like but as I said our venue the ceremony room has very heavy orange/red drapes which would look hideous if I had purple tie backs on the chairs but lovely with the gold!

Hopefully you get me!! ha! x
