Okay so this is a bit of a nosey post - but OH and I were talking about it the other day, and I think we decided to try pretty much straight after the wedding, trying to work it so that we have the kid end of july/august (when ever it happens) so he wont have to take time off work, as his company...

Okay so this is a bit of a nosey post - but OH and I were talking about it the other day, and I think we decided to try pretty much straight after the wedding, trying to work it so that we have the kid end of july/august (when ever it happens) so he wont have to take time off work, as his company pays about £100 a week and wit hthat we would never be able to pay the morgatge.. Lol.

SO - Anyone else planning on trying after the wedding?

we got engaged in feb 2008 we wanted a 2 year engagement. we then decided that we really wanted a baby so started trying we were lucky as i fell pregnant within a month. i'm glad we did it that way as our son will be part of our wedding. obviously it can be hard trying to plan a wedding and being a full time mum but it's worked for me. ?

My answer to the OP, we have been thinking for sometime that we would try straight after the wedding for our second, but are now going to wait till the end of the year as i know it sounds silly but i've been thinking that i'd like it if we had sometime just being married i know we already have a child but he is at the age now where we are able to have us time which we didn't have when he was a baby. I'd also like it if the baby came after our 1st anniversery so we could do something together as i didn't leave my son till he was about 1. There are a couple of other reasons too not just that but they are the main ones.

I would love a baby but I finish my Masters course in September and haven't got a job lined up yet, and H2B is getting made redundant soon. Once we both have stable jobs and have been in them for about a year we will probably start trying. I wish we could start sooner but it isn't financially practical unfortunately.

I know I am only 22 but I don't want to leave it for ages. My mum had me at age 28, and one of her friends didn't have her kids until mid-forties. I just look at the differences in their lives and know which one I'd prefer. Hope that doesn't offend anyone, it's just a personal preference about how I want my life to go. I also don't want to leave things and then god forbid find out there are fertility problems with one or both of us. If that happened, I'd far far rather find out at age 25 than 35.

I plan to come off my implant immediately after the wedding (probably would anyway, it's been nothing but hassle!!) and then come off the Pill maybe in mid-2012 and hopefully start trying in January 2013 if things go to plan. Our ideal would be to have one and adopt one, but we'll see how it goes and do our research obviously before we go any further.

I totally get where you're coming from on the age thing. I had my first at 18, and will be a month short of my 26th (EEK) birthday when I have this baby. I would have prefered to have been done by the time I was 25, but sadly had a m/c which stopped that happening. My mum had me and my sisters before she was 25, and now we're all grown up she has her life back to enjoy, which is what I want. Didn't want to be bringing up kids when i'm in my 40's. Although i might be as we decided we want another after this one, but aslong as i'm done popping them out before i'm 30, i'll be happy.

My OH is 10 years older than me, but he said as I make him feel young, he isn't bothered about being an old dad ?.

My mum knows about my plans and fully approves! I already have an undergrad degree and hopefully a Masters too in September, so it's not like I would be abandoning my studies or anything. My mum says that when I pop a kid out she'll retire to help look after it. Maybe that's why she is so keen on the idea ?

I have a 17 and 11 year old from prev relationship and didn't want anymore but had a rethink as H2B didn't have any children, we now have our LO who's 3 tomorrow and we aren't planning anymore.
