I just wanted to share with you the wonderful wedding I attended on Friday for my niece in South Wales.
I was so excited as it was the first wedding I'd been to for ages. My niece had had a very tough year with the sad loss of her mum (my SiL) last September so everyone was prepared for a particularly emotional day but it also managed to be a really joyous occasion under the circumstances, and the couple ensured this by bringing in lots of great light-hearted moments into the day. The favourite was the solemn, booming Welsh Male Voice Choir who sang the hymns so movingly but broke into a completely unexpected medley of Abba songs during the signing of the register much to the sheer delight of the congregation. The first dance was Oops Upside Your Head and she got everyone sitting on the floor with her! There was a casino in the evening with lots of elder family members greedily clutching their stacks of poker chips.
Her colour scheme was chocolate brown, pale dusky pink and ivory with a vintage feel and I've attached a few photos of her details (with her permission). Each table was named after a particular flower which then formed the main part of that table's centrepiece in vintage style enamelled pots. The cake was a display of beautiful little cup cakes each decorated with a single sugar rosebud and served in individual pastel coloured china ramekins. The flowers throughout the day were stunning and suited the vintage theme perfectly as did the venue decoration. As you can see she looked absolutely radiant and I cried my heart out!
Hope you like the photos.
