I don't think you need anything. It's quite spectacular as it is.

I think as long as you have chair covers to lift the light in the place and also some high table centre pieces you don't need to worry about anything else. Its a fab venue with so much character but just needs the light lifting as it is a bit dark with those chairs. imho of course. People will look up and around and go WOW but then their eyes will be at eye level for the rest of the occasion. You could tie some organza bows around some of the ballusters on the balcony if you really wanted. But I'd go for high centre pieces and chair covers.

ETA - bunting could work but you'd need to watch the colours carefully. Try searching for wedding images of the venue you might find some more ideas that others have done and found to work well - or not so well Smiley winking

I really wouldn't hang anything from that balcony. It's lovely.

I really don't think it needs anything, it's a lovely room. I don't think bunting would work personally, it would detract from the splendour.

Yes, we plan to have white chair covers and pink sashes. Possible alternating in colour (ie a lighter shade) but not sure OH would like this. And yep, agree with the high centre pieces. Changed our mind a few times but settled on the idea of a tree trunk log "base" and a tall candle holder of some kind with a candle in it, with rose petals and lavender around the bottoms Smiley smile

I did see one image with bunting on, but dont like it for the simple fact - colours. I think if we had pastels it might look nice. What are organza bows??

Thanks for the compliments on our venue Smiley smile

To me that last picture you posted looks dull because the bunting seems half arsed. It's only in one section so to me it suggests that they had some left over and someone said 'Oh just bung it up there on the balcony.'

Also the room is empty in the last picture whereas it looks much better in the pictures where it's filled with people.

Organza bows are basically chair sashes. It's the really light almost transparent fabric ribbon that you see. You could tie them near the top handrail where you have the metal supports meet the handrail. That could look nice.

I think that bunting looks quite nice but not sure a small piece strung across the ballusters would look right. Bunting is supposed to be free hanging so going between walls not flat against them. So if you could drape it across so it was going over people's heads it would be better but then I think it could end up looking messy. It really depends if you want to stop people looking up. Have you thought about paper pom poms? You'd need to drape string across the void but you could then hang pom poms. Trouble is this all then starts to get complex and messay and unless you can find more pics to give you an idea - it could be a mistake.

Personally, I'd just stick with your chair covers, sashes - love different shades - and tall centrepieces - candles are great. I think that will be enough.

Highbury Hall speaks for itself. you don't need anything although bunting has looked cab!

Have you seen the chair toppers rather than the full cover? They have lace ones and it covers the top of the back of the chair.

    ETA an example

I think the room is fabulous and doesn't need any thing else - however I would say it is not in the least bit rustic or gardeny. ? Have you thought about changing your theme rather than trying to change the room?

Yeah I agree with Foo. I would have loved a festival type theme but the venue we ended up going for is completely different so the vision changed. I find it hard to see a rustic theme in your venue but maybe that's just my lack of imagination!
