Balloon decorations, in two minds, got any pics I can have a look at

zoej1983, 14 March, 2009 at 21:42 Posted on Planning 0 9

I have booked a family friend who is an amazing magician and entertainer for the evening of our wedding, he is my daughters favourite entertainer and she has no idea we booked him, lol.

Anyway the other day another bride rang him to ask if she could book him for her wedding, just so happens it the other bride who is getting married at the venue on the same day as me (shes in the other wing). He is starting up a new buissness to do balloon decorations for weddings and other parties, he offered the other bride to decorate the room for her and he has offered us the same. It will be his launch for the buissness. He will be charging between £500 and £1000 and has said as its his launch will only do it for us for £100!!!

I have had a look on the internet but cant find anything that we like, wondered if anyone has any pictures that I can have a look at.

Thanks in advance

Zoe

We're thinking of having balloons - I think works about £6 per table usually, without any big arches or anything. We're probably going for 3 on each table, then maybe some cloud nines behind the top table ( I found some pictures where they looked OK).

Some links -I've found its best to look on pictures from suppliers to get an idea of what it looks like.

    Hi Zoe

We had balloons... however, we did ours the morning of the wedding. Well.... my 'team' did while I was being pampered at the hairdressers....

The balloons, ribbon, weights and the helium probably cost around £50/£60.

I had balloons at our wedding, they certainly added a bit of colour. We hired a canister of helium and did them ourselves it probably cost about £50 to do it.

I'm debating balloons too, but thinking of just buying a helium canister and doing them ourselves! x

I think it's Heather that's a balloon HIB on here - if you put a bounce out for her, I'm sure she will have loads of photos to show you. Here is one of a display at a wedding I provided the reception flowers for last week - sorry it's not a brilliant one of the balloons as I was taking a photo of the flowers. These balloons were in sprays at either side of the ceremony table and in the centre of the guest tables. They looked lovely. This is Hotel St Pierre in Wakefield just in case any Yorkshire Brides think it looks familiar!

    Hello

Heather here - I've got lots of pictures of decorated rooms and pages of different decorations that should give you some ideas - the website addy is www.theballoongallery.co.uk. I am a professionally trained balloon decorator who has done many courses and lots of practice, so can make sure the balloons are created at the correct height and look for the room. It isn't as easy as it looks to get them the correct size - not over or under inflated. As a piece of advice I would ask him to show you pictures or some examples of his work so you can see what it looks like.

    Hope this helps

Thanks Rainbow :-) hope you are well.

Thanks so much Heather, was just coming on to Hitched to leave you a post but saw there was a new post so thought I would check that before hand, good thing I did really. Love your heart with the 2 cloud nines on the homepage, you have some lovey pieces I havent seen, like your table decorations which are incorporated into the centrepieces. Gave me alot to think about, am showing H2B tomorrow as hes in bed, bless him.

Thankyou again and thanks to Rainbow for letting me know there was a HIB on here that could help me.

    Hi Zoe ?

You are very welcome hunny - this is what I love doing. I know it is so difficult for brides to imagine how a finished room will look, even if they have seen it set up previously.

Hope your H2B likes the ideas and that the balloon guy has the experience to be able to do them for you.

Take care and enjoy the rest of your planning

    Love Heather xx
