Balls - dropped mobile down toilet

deedee, 15 April, 2008 at 20:45 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

Hi

Don't ask but i dropped my mobile down the toilet yesterday. It is not working properly (surprise surprise). It is a Samsung D900 and just vibrates when i turn it on. I am insured but need to get my phone numbers off there. I have tried to connect it to the pc but it is not connecting. Does anyone have any idea? (slim chance!)

Thanks

Take it apart as much as you can and leave it in a warmish place to dry out for a few days.

You need to take your mobile apart and leave it in bits in a warm place like an airing cupboard for 48 hours. This sometimes dries them out and they work good as new again.

Thank you. I have taken it apart and will leave it for a day or two and then speak to Vodafone.

    Thanks x

    This happened to me!

I took the phone to bits and left it to dry- took about 3 days but when I put it back together it worked fine.

I used to regularly drop my phone down the toilet. (thankfully always after I'd flushed)

Take it apart, dry it out and it should hopefully be fine.

Just dont chew it afterwards like I did.

Get it in as many bits as you can and put it in your airing cupboard. The same thing happened to my phone and my friend told me to do this. I left it in there for 2 days and it started working again. It's worth a try!

This happened to my H once. he was in a pub toilet talking to me when he dropped it in the trough, the bloke next to him the deliberately peed on it ?, it sounded rather funny?.
he then ran it under the tap and when he got home dried it out for a few days, got the numbers off it then phoned for an upgrade!
    good luck with yours
