Hello!

there's a great 2 piece ceilidh band (with caller) called "Double Scotch" based in Edinburgh - I was going to book them but my fiance's dad and 2 best pals play the fiddle or something so we're having him instead (???!!??) (Dont ask - OH's decision that one!!!) :-)

As for photographers - it totally depends on your budget, I'm having Archibald photography because I went to Glasgow Uni with Mark Archibald and know him from way back, but he is totally amazing - check out some of his work on www.archibaldphotography.co.uk

His styleof reportage is very much us - I think e makes the brides look stunning - I know they are anyway - but there's nothing "forced" about his work... :-)

For Edinburgh and around I always suggest looking at the work of Martin Pettinger, a damn fine photographer and fantastic landscape photographer artist.

I work as a videographer in Scotland and therefore see many different photographers at work and also bands at night so my recommendations are based on seeing them at work. For photographers I judge them more on how they are on the day rather than their photographs - you can judge that from their work. I find their personality is a major factor, as I have seen them ruin the day for the bride and groom and on the other hand, they can actually entertain the guests just through their personaility. My recommendations for bands is based again on their personaility but more on how they kept the floor full and the guests entertained.

They charge the same price as you'd get if you go to the act directly (apparently) and their service is really superb.

We are using Blue Sky for our photographers... they are such a lovely couple and really pleased that we get two photographers all day!

I can echo what j_steel said, I've seen Ceilidh Minogue a few times at various events and they have always been great
