band Help?!

kaygray86, 3 May, 2013 at 15:58 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi...

Can anyone recommend a good band? So far I have not had much luck, two really good Bands that are friends of friends (and would have been cheap) cant do our wedding due to holidays and other bookings!!

Have looked online but there are soooo many, and some are just too expensive!!

We are getting Married Near Canterbury in Kent, and looking for a young Pop / Rock band??

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks x

If you pop your enquiry in here https://www.uk-band.co.uk/find_a_band_in_kent.html the bands that are available for your date will get in contact with you. Its nice and easy and saves you having to trawl through list after list. All the bands have insurance too.

We booked a duo called the bullitz from liveweddingmusic.co.uk they were great, and we also looked at the hares (thehares.co.uk) and the deltatones (thedeltatones.co.uk). Not sure if they would be what your after but might be worth a nosey. Good luck.

Not much help I know but when I was at the bluewater wedding fair a couple of months ago, they had some really good sounding bands on the entertainment stage. I didn't pay much attention as we're having a DJ but one I remember sounding good was called groove instinct. Some of the others sounded good to but not sure which is which - you can see a list of the bands that played on the bluewater wedding fair site under entertainment. It was the bands on the Saturday we would have seen. Not sure how much any of them are though

The link I put up isn't an agency, it's an organisation for musicians. We put you in direct contact with the band, you deal directly with the band at all times and they set their price. We don't take commission. The other advantage is you've got the back up of a large organisation should you have a problem.

Very true. One sneeky way of doing this is to do a reverse image search on Google as agencies will often use the same images fomr band's own web site. Just googling the band's name usually won't be enough as they will have a different 'agency' name to stop clients from finding them directly.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

Booking through an agent is ok but around 20% of your budget will go on commission. There are hundreds of bands to choose from including my own who are happy to travel. The money you save on agency commission could go towards paying for someone further afield.

    Hope this helps

Did you ever have a try to hand out ad at the college school or high school, there are a lot of students, who may have their own band and will be interested in the task,as they also want to get some pocket money...?

    Hi,

I can recommend Wild Honey. They are my daughter`s friend`s band and are very talented. I think they have a website so worth contacting them
