Band worries

cannotbelieveit, 2 September, 2010 at 14:54 Posted on Planning 0 3

I've got a band palying at my evening reception in 5 weeks time. I saw them at another wedding a couple of years ago, which is why I booked them. I emailed them last week. No reply. i called them today and it went through to answerphone.

Do you think I should be worried? I'm panicking!

I would try and google them for an alternative number, or ask the person whose wedding you saw them at last, sometimes they have their personal number aswell, the band ive booked is constantly changing their number for some unknown reason but i know the lead singer so i can just visit him with a stern look,

hopefully if you have left a message then you will get a response, just have a back up plan now so that in a couple of weeks time your not adding band search to your list of things to do,

    good luck keep us update,

    Hi cannotbelieveit

I wouldn't worry just yet. The poster above is absolutely correct - google them and see if they appear to be active. Give them a little time to return that phone message - I'm sure they will. If they haven't by tomorrow then call again and repeat that for a couple days. If you still haven't reached them by the end of next week then perhaps its time to be concerned.

When did you book them and did you get a contract from them? Did you pay a deposit?

    Thanks for the replies.

I got an email confirming the date I'd booked them for and the receipt of the deposit I paid. I've checked and believe they are playing in a bar in my town tonight (I'm working so can;t go along to see).

    Hopefully it will be ok!

Cool, then I'm sure it'll be ok. Keep calling until you get them. Its a shame that some musicians aren't particularly great at responding to emails in a timely fashion. There's no excuse for not having an iphone or a blackberry is what I say Smiley winking

    Good luck.
