Bands west midlands

We've booked The Suits for our wedding in May.

We saw them at an open rehearsal in Birmingham and they were great!

Not that helpful as its not an actual recommendation but it might be worth looking a bit further afield if your struggling to find someone local, as lots of the bands we looked at will travel for only a very small extra charge, what kind of music are you after? we wanted something a bit indie/pop/rock and couldnt find anything we loved in worcestershire/midlands so we've got a band travelling up from Surrey. Our second option was a hampshire based band who were happy to travel for just an extra £70!

We are looking for a band pop/rock ect as my other half is irish we want incorporate that too but we dont want to pay the earth either.

I've seen The Suits perform and they were really good!

I let OH decide on entertainment and he's booked The Smooth Criminals. They seem really good too although I've never seen them perform live and there are a few different options depending on your budget.

We'd second the advice of TreacleTart, if you can't find a local band that you like, there will be bands from further afield who'd be happy to travel.

In the Midlands you're very well-placed. Loads of great bands are based in and around London and the South East, and plenty more are in the Liverpool and Manchester area. Which is good news, as you're right in the middle! Travel from either region to the West Midlands shouldn't add too much to a band's price.

Of course there are some excellent bands in the West Midlands too.

To keep prices down, we'd recommend looking at 3-piece bands. Bands charge per head, so smaller bands will generally be easier on your wallet.

Hi, we booked a band called The Spectrum who we found here on Hitched. They are fab and really went down well at our wedding.

They are mids based too.

The West Midlands has some really excellent wedding bands currently plying their trade and you wont go far wrong with any mentioned here on this thread.

But remember to be careful of agents as pricing will always be higher than going direct to the band.

Yeah i found that out when looking online for band, Im still looking. I have 17 months to go.

Hey, for my wedding we hired a company called Piano Factor.

They are piano entertainers, and they really set the mood at my wedding, they got everyone involved and it was so much fun. They also play music which you prefer which makes them a lot better than some bands, because theres nothing worse than booking a band and having the wrong music choice, especially on your big special day.

I booked a friends band called Vibetown... website is www.vibetown.net i think. Got them for our wedding over the summer and have seen them play loads. They travel al over the UK & Europe too, so don't think they'd have a problem travelling to you guys.
