I would buy this but I would be worried I would get charged £150.

I was worried about that too, but H said they would cancel the order and not expect people to pay the £150.

It's going to go one of two ways, either you'll get it for a tenner or your order will be cancelled.

Do a google search for james bond dvd boxed set and it comes up as play.com £99.99 then click and it says £9.99 so yes it's definitely a misprice and I doubt it'll be honoured.

Have given it a go - nothing to lose really.

They can't change the price they charge you. If it's a mistake and they realise they will cancel the order and offer at the higher price, but you won't lose anything. I've ordered a couple, I know several people who would like it and can sell one or two on ebay. No harm trying. Might not be a mistake, you never know.

The rule with normal retailing is that they have to either honour that price or withdraw the item from sale for 24 hours - obviously that's easier to do with online shops.

That's an urban myth I'm afraid. "Normal" retailers or online retailers can honour the price if they so choose, normally as a gesture of goodwill and good customer service. However, they don't have to sell you the product at that price if they don't want to.

Just as I was about to mention this to OH, I saw him make a dive for his wallet. It's been posted on the moneysavingexpert forum. So no doubt 1000s are placing their orders now ?

It's been posted on hotukdeals and what with MSE someone else mentioned, will have been more orders than sets actually exist for a start!

I've just recieved a confirmation email from play which states this: -

"We will confirm that the product(s) have been dispatched by a confirmation email.

This confirmation e-mail amounts to an acceptance by Play.com of your offer to buy goods from Play.com"

We shall see what happen with it in the next 24 hours!

Like with the Tv's for a quid or whatever it was it won't be honoured, definitaly not now that 100's of people have ordered it.

A regular shop may sell one at that price as a thanks for pointing it out and saving us a load of hassel but even then it's unlikely with such a huge error from the actual price. As gets explained every time one of these things comes up, the price shown is an invitiation to treat, you offer to buy it , they acept your offer by taking your money. No shop is obliged to sell you anything at the price marked, ever. The issue is the laws were written pre online trading so end up being vague in that contect but it's essentialy the same thing, there's no contract till they accept the order and an automated "thanks for your order" doesn't count.

The box set is not released until the Monday 20th October, so all orders are pre-orders.

I would think every person who ordered will get an email advising of the error and asking if they would like to order at the correct price - No-one will get it at that price.

I think if a couple of people come across things like this, they've got a chance. When it's posted across half the internet, no way

It's just gone up to £99.99.

Even though the price showing is £9.99. when you click to buy, it now changes the price to £99.99

They have cancelled my order - I guess there was no harm trying ?

I just thought I'd let you all know play are sending out emails stating that orders have been cancelled as the item was priced incorrectly - it should've read as £99.99.

Was worth a try though you never know your luck!
