Baths...is it just me

cotteesgirl, 27 September, 2009 at 19:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

That thinks they are the biggest waste of money and the most expensive way to get clean? just wondered if anyone out there can justify them or make me a bath believer.

I use them for relaxation rather than washing - although obviously they serve that purpose too.

    I love my bath.

It all depends how you use them.

For example, I know people who take up to 30 minutes in the shower - washing and conditioning hair, shaving, exfoliating etc. And other people who have short baths and share the bathwater with their family.

I rarely bath, but love the odd occasion when I do - like tonight, when I had a nice soak after a 10km race. I do see baths as a way to cleanse and relax, rather than a shower which just cleanses.

I normally have a long hot soak in the bath, I have a shower every morning before leaving for work.

Im not a bath believer either. When we moved into our house 7 1/2 years ago the first thing we did was rip out the old bathroom and replace it with a lovely new one. We are lucky to have a large bathroom so could easily fit in a clawfoot roll top bath with room all around it, a double shower, loo and basin. in 7 1/2 years the bath has been used 4 times, all of which are by me. Mr WT hasnt used it once.

We are showerers and as Dief says some people like to take time in the shower, thats me...at least 20 minutes. Ive only used the bath when I needed to relax really. and 4 times in 7 1/2 years really doesnt warrant having it! However it looks fantastic, is always a talking point and hopefully will help sell our house!

My bath is one my one indulgence.

I love 'em so much we've got a massive corner job with lights set into the floor all around it that my wife and I can both fit in side by side!

We sometimes have a romantic soak together complete with candles. My 3.5 year old always wants me to put my swimming shorts in and get in with her and we have a play about in there for ages.

I read in there for hours to get away from it all.

I also suffer from a bad back and a good long soak is really effective in loosening it up and managing the pain.

    Baths rock!

When we got our new bathroom I had to have this huge rolltop bath. I've been in it the grand total of twice. H uses it quite often to soothe aches and pains. If we are away on holiday we have friends escape their grown up children house sit just to get using it, so it was worth every penny.
