Quite awful IMO - apparently they need to inject more glamour and appeal to younger viewers - presuming they are keeping brucey and len though! how much totty do they need FFS - and hardly an old boot is she?

i am rather shocked at such blatent ageism and sexism - perhaps i shouldnt be

And other than winning the show a few years ago, and jigging around a bit when she sings, what does Alesha REALLY know about dancing? She doesn't have choreography skills or years of experience like Arlene. Ridiculous idea. I really hope this doesn't happen.

I will be interested to see who she is replaced with. TBH I would welcome someone who has more of a background in ballroom dancing itself (Arlene doesn't) although I fear they will have a past contestant on in replacement...

I suppose if this is true and not just another rumour then we should be shocked, but in the celebrity/TV world I suppose it's normal now. It's all about getting younger, glamourous, gorgeous stars in. I would prefer it if they got rid of Craig Revel-Horwood and brought in Alesha Dixon that way, I think she's great.

The whole point of the judges is that they're experts in their field. Alesha isn't.

    Arlene to stay!

That's ridiculous. It would be the downfall of Strictly to get rid of any of the judges or presenters. Why do programme makers feel the need to make changes to appeal to younger viewers? I hate change for the sake of sake of change. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Surely it is still one of their most popular programmes?

I agree with alison76. The judges are all experts. Alesha is not.

I predict a miraculous Louis Walsh type return in a PR stunt stylee.

Or a Kelly Brook style sacking.

I will boycott the series if they replace Arlene with Alesha - she knows nothing.

If anyone needs to go its Brucie, he is so unfunny and annoying. He should be replaced by Anton Du Beke as he is never given a partner capable of making into the quarter finals let alone winning it !

Perhaps replace Arlene with a younger coreographer like one of the professional dancers off Dancing With The Stars.

No, no, no - Brucie must stay. He's a legend and I love his doddery ways.

I think it's a shame Arlene's going, if she's going (I agree with HH) It's nice to see a woman on TV who isn't 20 and airbrushed. I think she's fab for her age. and she's often the voice of reason.

One of the reasons I think DWTS is bland compared to Strictly is that the female choreographer is sooooo dull. And as for the presenters - bland, botoxed and boring.

Anyone who brought us Hot Gossip should be revered, not fired.. Legwarmers akimbo!

PS If anyone should go, it should be Tess Daly. They could always replace her with Alesha.

I agree with this but not your other post at all !

DWTS is soooo much better than Strictly, Tom is quite funny and loads better than Brucie. Samantha is a bit plastic I agree but the quality of the professional dancing is just awesome. When they do the freestyle I always end up rewinding it and watching them again! ?

At first I thought "yes!", I couldn't stand Arlene the past 2 series, but replacing her with Alesha?!?! As been said: what does she know about dancing???

I so want Bruce to go too, would love it if they replaced him with Anton.

If they were going to replace Brucie I think it should be someone like John Barrowman that got the job, a presenter that knows a touch about dancing from his days on the stage.

Tess, sling her - anyone who after however many series still can't manage a side step and turn with her partner has to go in my book (if only to get rid of some of the God awful wardrobe disasters!), I would like to see Claudia Winkleman do it, she's great on the nightly show.

Great idea, she cracks me up although I do wish she would get her fringe trimmed and ditch the pale lipstick/heavy eye make-up combo ?

Can't bear Arlene so I would be very happy if she went. But I'm not sure Alesha is right as a judge. Like everyone else says, where's her expertise?

As for Bruce and Tess, they could both go for me. Bruce is really too doddery and infirm now, and his 'I'm not doddery, doddery I am not' thing is just embarassing. Tess is inoffensive but bland. I can see Alesha replacing her. I would rather Claudia stays on the BBC2 show where she can be more irreverant. I think having her in Tess's place would reign her in and squash her personality.

God, no, not John Barrowman. Much as I like him, he was an appalling judge on the Nancy programme - just bloody awful. Anton all the way.

Tess is crap, I concur, but I'm not sure I could take Winkleman unless she sorts out her sodding fringe/eyeliner/panda in a bad wig look

I agree with The beast about leaving Claudia on BBC 2, I didn't think she was great on Hell's Kitchen in the more formal presenter's slot but really like her on It Takes Two. I'm not fussed one way or another about Tess and think Alesha and Bruce could be quite an entertaining duo.

I really like Arlene and think she works well with the boys on the panel, I'd be v sad to see her go.

I would hate him as a judge, I meant as the show's presenter.

I love Winkleman. I want to be her. Need to lose about 10 stone first, obviously.

I hate Tess and Bruce. I want to like Strictly but I can't bear it because of those two.
