Bedfordshire Wedding Venue.

Sooperdooper, 22 April, 2012 at 19:45 Posted on Planning 0 9

Evening Ladies,

I have been visiting Hitched for a couple of months, and hugely enjoy reading your posts.

My Oh and I have been discussing tying the knot in the not too distant future, however there seems to be a real lack of Wedding venues in Bedfordshire.

I have attended weddings of friends and family of most of them, and the others I have looked at online really don't seem very impressive.

Please can you give me some suggestions for venues in or near to Bedfordshire, that I may have overlooked.

We live in a small village to the south of Bedford, so Buckinghamshire or Cambridgeshire would be possible too.

We are in our middle 30's and have 2 wonderful daughters who will be our flower girls.

I have been married before, but Mr Sooperdooper hasn't.

We don't want a church ceremony.

We will have immediate family, and our closest friends during the day approx 50/60, and approx another 60 in the evening.

Any inspiration you can give me will be greatfully accepted.

x

Have you tried your local councils websites? they will have a list of all premises licensed for wedding in your areas.

WSS - There are some lovely places including private houses that are licensed and you have all to yourself, it depends on your budget.

Moreteyne Manor in Marston Moretaine is lovely, have you looked there? Or Woodlands Manor in Clapham. Or there's Wyboston Lakes. The Holiday Inn Newport Pagnell is an old Georgean building which looks lovely too and they do deals there.

    Just a few suggestions.

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions.

I have looked at the list and there is very little that inspire me....... prehaps I'm being too picky!

Moretyne Manor is lovely and is only 5 miles from where we live, so would be a great option.

We have both been to lots of weddings at Woodlands Manor, so that one is off our list.

Wyboston Lakes, is too new and business looking if that makes any sense?!?

However The Holiday Inn in Newport Pagnell, isn't somewhere that I had even thought of, so I shall go and look on the website, Thanks Ali_G

We looked at the Holiday Inn in Newport Pagnell but for the numbers we had for the day didn't really feel like they could cater for us properly ( we had over 100 for the day alone) however for your numbers I think it would work really well.

Another one we looked at and have been to a couple of weddings there is The *** Hotel in Stony Stratford, really nice venue

I've worked at Horwood house many times as it's 15 mins from me. It's a lovely venue and all my bride's have always been really pleased with the venue. Another recent bride got married at Moretayne manor and said the venue was great. Juliet x

What about The Barns Hotel in Bedford? My best friend is getting married there next year and it's gorgeous. You could also try Wrest Park in between Silsoe and Bedford. X
