Bedroom Ban?

Shnarfy1, 1 July, 2010 at 23:22 Posted on Planning 0 23

Smiley smile

I know a lot of people do enforce bedroom bans before the wedding, banning every but sleep if you catch my drift Smiley winking I was just wondering are you enforcing one and if so how long is your...dry spell...going to last Sorry if this causes offence to anyone, but I am genuinely curious, I suggested 4 months to my partner just for a laugh and his face was priceless, we are thinking about a month before.

I saw it on Friends with Monica and Chandler but do not understand why?! Is it a nod to the old traditional virgin before marriage thing?? Bit late for most of us I'd say!! We have no plans for any such bans, but am interested to know what it's all about!

Though atm am so tired and busy it isn't out of the realms of possibility that next "sexy time" will be as husband and wife!!

I think it's mainly so that the wedding night feels more special because you've had to go without for such a long time Smiley smile

Hmm not too sure about this one. I presume it'll just stay normal until its the last day we see eachother...surely some people want 'one last time before we're husband and wife'? lol

I've never heard of this either, I don't think OH would be too pleased though.

I have suggested to OH a week!! OH was not impressed, but I think it will be worth it on the wedding night! He says why bother - the night before the wedding is enough! haha.

I did suggest 9 months - to make sure I didn't fall pregnant before the wedding as my cousin who was due to get married 2 weeks before us just announced she is pregnant and so the wedding is cancelled - again not taken too well by OH! Although I think it would be nice to be pregnant on the weddind day.

    Ive never heard of this!!

if anything, all of the planning makes us feel extra fluffy so if anything we did it more (thats probably why we had to move the wedding forward though!!)

Good luck to anyone who is going to try this - I hope your OH doesnt get too drunk and pass out on the wedding night!

Haha knowing what we are like it will be me who is drunk and sleepy! Smiley smile

I hope it will be special, but I don't want to build the expectations too high... Maybe a ban in the wrong way to go! Like H2B says - the night before is enough! lol

I'll be staying with my parents for the week before the wedding, so I guess this will enforce a bit of a lull, but if we were together I don't think I'd insist!

Yep we will be with my parents too, as we both live hundred of miles away from where we are getting married!

Haha - LauraSJ surely not a rendition of when Roxy married Shaun in eastenders and they were at it in the registry office?

I think I might find myself with a cancelled wedding if I suggested this! Although I'm with lamby, I'm so tired at the moment that it may well happen naturally...

It just seems a bit of a hostage to fortune really putting yourself under that much pressure for the wedding night. I guess when people had weddings which they left about 5pm it was ok but I'm not going to count our chickens about actually managing it after having been drinking for 10 hours!

Wow, can't believe so many of you have never heard of this. I thought it was quite common.

I've spoken with h2b about this before and he wasn't keen on the idea at first hehe, but I'd like a month ban or so, just because of the build up and romance side really. Don't know if we could last the month though, will have to see!

Didnt you realise that marriage IS the bedroom ban????!!! LMAOOOO.

Seriously though, you will most likely be too knackered to do the deed on your wedding night (dont waste money on lingerie, girls, save it for the HM). I have never heard of such a thing either.....you're not marrying a footballer for heavens sake, lolololol (or maybe u are..)

Well just remember things can go wrong. I started my period about a week early and it arrived part way through the wedding day in addition I had a stinking migraine by the end of the day, so we didn't get up to anything on the wedding night. The OH actually got shouted at for opening the curtains and when I tried to eat the following day I threw up. After OH booked lovely romantic hotel Smiley sad. When we did get to make love five days after we got married I ended up pregnant.

Tbh i have been so tired and stressed that it's naturally a bit 'sparse' at the moment anyway! So not a proper enforced ban but certainly a lull!

Not putting pressure on at all for the night though - we'll see what happens!

I have never heard of this in my life and think it's a bit strange to be honest. We are staying together the night before our wedding and will be having breakfast together the morning of our wedding before i go my way and he goes his to get ready. Oh has already says he is not holding out for any earth moving to be happening the night of the wedding as he know sfull well that we will be enjoying ourselves to much with all our friends and family and i will probably end up crashing in my dress unable to work out how the hell to get it off!
