Hi All,

I know there have been lots of post about the Birmingham lady regarding bm dresses!

Well i went to her shop on Saturday and found a dress I loved. Im not quite sure what’s making me hesitate, especially when they are only £45 each, but something is.

I have four bridesmaids - and I don’t think ill be able to get back to Birmingham, so if you have used her - did you just email her the measurements? Did the dresses come up ok?

How do the alternations work? Do I just visit the shop with all my bms when they are in and she does it there? Does she then post them out?

Many thanks!!

    Hi!

I have used her for my three bridesmaids and been very happy with the results.

I didn't even visit the shop, just did it all over the internet. I ordered one made to measure (the others were just regular sizes) and emailed the measurements when I ordered the dress. It came exactly how I wanted, really happy with it.

Don't know about alterations, but I've heard that she is quite slow so it might be easier to get them altered somewhere else that you trust? I don't know, just passing on what I've heard!

    Hope that helps!

    Hi

I ordered dresses from the Birmingham lady through ebay.

I was nervous after reading such mixed reviews, but most of the recent ones were positive so i thought i would give it a go! I emailed her the measurements and the dresses came back 2 weeks later and I couldnt be more pleased - absolutely perfect for me, lovely colour and good quality.

Out of the 3 dresses, one needs an alteration in length (for my Junior bridesmaid) So for this alteration i have booked a local seamstress and she was very impressed with the quality of the dresses ?

Heres a flash of my dresses xx

Mine came from the Birmingham dress lady, Only 2/3 of my bridesmaids could go to the shop so I got the third to measure herself and took the measurements with us.

TBH if they are made to measure, on the correct timeframes, they won't need much, if any alterations.

I paid a local seamstress to do mine (Birmingham is an hour from home) and payed £10 to have the hem of one of the dresses taken up. We didn't have the shoes when we ordered and so had to guess heel size, hence the problem - my BM asked to have 6" added on and i'd guess she added 12" - but no big deal as they were going in to the local seamstressed to be pressed, after being posted out to me anyway. Was done in a matter of hours.

I had nightmares with her - no name on parcel, saying it hadbeen sent when it hadn't. Only send 3 dresses when 4 ordered, sending 2 out of 3 in the wrong size. Her communication is shocking but that said when the dresses eventually did arrive they were beautiful but it was just too late by that point so I returned them and then had to chase her, got ignored and only got a refund (despite her saying it would be no problem) when I threatened to report her to ebay/paypal. I guess its a risk you will have to take for dresses that cheaply but be prepared to chase every step of the way and order early so you have time to sort it out if it goes wrong.

Yep, her ebay name is 'huiyankitty' so if you search for that you should find her. ?
