Been making invitations.....again!! Now with pics!

ashmegdj, 22 January, 2009 at 15:34 Posted on Planning 0 38

My sister has been here all day helping me design my invitations and make one up (doesn't sound much for one day I know). Now waiting for H2B to get home to show him. Fingers crossed he likes them. I don't think I could start all over again.

(What happened to Hitched? How long was I gone for?)

ETA: I didn't rate my post. No sure how that got there. Bet you're disappointed now though!!

I know, I know but I want to show my OH first because if he doesn't like them they won't end up being our invitations.

As soon as I have his lordships approval I will post piccies!!

(Grrr....I keep having to retype my replies because it kicks me out!!)

    ?

Are they similar to your first design, or something completely different?

Well it depends how moody I get!! ? I might just throw them at him and tell him to do better.

The more I look at them the more I like them. (not helping with the teasing, sorry)

If I do need to start again I'll still post the pics just for you.

I don't think he likes them?!?! He's gone straight in the bath but he didn't seem keen.

I'll try him again later and update again.

If he's only just got in, maybe he hasn't had time to have a proper look.

    I'm sure he'll love them!

    Fingers crossed!

Finally some piccies for you vultures photo junkies lovely ladies!!

The invitations are layered with different info on each page. Also on each page you see more of the flower at the bottom. The flower will be brighter I think for the final design (H2B's suggestion!) and the wire will be slightly longer and a bit curlier. The heart beads are glass and I love them so I'm glad I've been able to include them.

    So what do you think??

ETA: That strip across the middle is to cover our venue address!!

They are fab, well done. The wire and hearts are different which I like. If you make the flowers brighter would you use the same hearts? A supplier of mine has the glass hearts in all different colours and sizes if you felt you wanted darker hearts to match the flower. (I don't mean you should use different hearts just in case you wanted to).

Wow! They are fab. Very professional and really funky and modern too.

<not wanting to put a downer on things> Remember that you may have to pay more postage because the beads will make the envelope thicker. My friend sent all her invitations normal first class and becuase there was a bow on them she didn't realised it made the postage higher so everyone got cards through their door to say they had to hand over some dosh.

That is a very good point and I think you might end up having to use a large letter stamp which is 52p because of the curly wire. Not much fits though the slot for a normal stamp anymore as it can only be 5mm thick.
