Benefit eyeliner

*Mini*, 20 July, 2014 at 19:28 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

Has anyone used this https://www.benefitcosmetics.com/en-gb/product/theyre-real-gel-eyeliner-pen and is it any good? I normally use Mac fluidline but would like something less fiddly. I had a benefit liquid eyeliner called 'magic ink' and it wasn't great so wondering if this is worth my pennies on payday?

I think AliG used it, and rated it.

Yep, and yes! It's bloody amazing. Worth every penny IMO. And it stays puts ALL day.

Your eyeliner lasted pretty well at R4L mini one ?

Hmm, I may try it in that case. I like liquid liners but have a terrible problem with getting a smudge under my left eye (just the left) after a couple of hours. I have some theatrical liner sealer but that only works with gel and cake liners.

I have it and don't rate it at all. It flakes off, goes patchy and smudges. I'm so disappointed.

I'm a cheapskate. I use Miss Sporty waterproof liquid liner. It's damn good - it stayed after the ultimate test of my Nan's funeral.

I think it depends on your eyes. My eyes are small with hooded lids, and the left is smaller than the right, hence why the colour escapes more easily on that one. I also have very dry undereyes, and it took me aaages to figure out that moisturising them right before applying concealer was making the colour transfer worse. Now I make sure my moisturiser is well sunk in before I put mascara or eyeliner on! I got a friend to bring me a Lorac liner from the States and it stays put really well, but the pen is like a ball bearing one and really difficult to apply. I have to shake it like a Polaroid picture before each stroke of liner. Hard work.

The Benefit one is a gel eyeliner.

Oh is it? But in a pen? I hadn't realised that. So my sealer stuff would probably work with it. Iiiinteresting.

Yup, it's in a pen. You kinda have to twist the base to release the gel. It glides on like a liquid liner though.

I can only use a brush to apply mine, but I might give this a go.

Following on from this, what mascara do people use? I just want something to wear for work that gives a bit of definition and doesn't smudge. No fancy volumising or anything. I was looking in Superdrug last week and the mascaras by L'Oreal, Maybelline and the like all seem to make crazy claims about how they'll make your lashes so long you'll trip over them, etc. I was exhausted by it all.

I use Benefit They're Real mascara too. I wont use anything else. It's expensive, but again, worth every penny IMO.
