Dubai and Australia are what came to my mind anyhow.

Buenos Aires? Amazing beef and Red Wine, good brand new Hilton hotel close to the city centre, lots to do, good climate

UAE - explore further afield than Dubai - Abu Dhabi (Emirates Palace), Oman (Chedi) is really lovely.

HK - We are going out in Feb, staying 5 nts at Mandarin & then onto a beach resort just outside.

St Barths - Hotel Guanahani (but lack of City)

Also what about Japan (Busena Resort)

hm, dubai isnt really doing it for me. i ve been before, and i m not keen - should have said in the OP, so apologies.

I don't think 'luxury' covers it as i am sure you would scoff at my idea of luxury. So, the question of budget remains.

But oh, then we would have the difficulty of discussing money, which can be vulgur, oh the dilemna!

BTW my idea of luxury was my honeymoon in the maldives, in a water suite. It was a Kuoni brochured property, classed as medium. It would have been perfect had there been no children.

If the Caribbean is an option, how about St Martin? My parents, who definitely prefer luxury holidays, went there and enjoyed it. I can't ask them where they stayed as they are currently on holiday ?

cuba - no true "luxury" hotels there

egypt - nah

buenes aries isnt hot then i think

brazil - hm, yes, maybe, need to look into it. i have mates who ve been so can ask them.

caribbean - not inspired, food is never great, culture isnt there, and have been many times

It wasn`t on mine, but was beautiful, hardly a cloud in the sky. Was warmer than Cape Verde where we were the day before.
