Im feeling really nervous about going becuase I dont like being pushed or forced into things, so im hoping that they are not like that! x

They were nice enough when I went, I did like one particular dress which they made a note for me incase I forgot. But the fortnight after they phoned me at least 4 times telling me there was a promotion on the dress, and did I want to go ahead an order it. The final straw was when they told me it was my last chance as the dress would be discountinued, I told them I wasnt interested and didnt get the dress.

Decided to call in a few months later just to have a look and sure enough the dress was still on the rack at full price,,,, all a load of rubbish!

Dont let this put you off cause other than that there service was good but dont let them push you into anything ?

    Hi CharleeA!

I too went to Berkatex Brides before Christmas and my experience in store was relitively nice - I went with two of my BMs and tried on about 6 dresses. I fell in love with the Tom Flowers Beth one, but at £1200 when I was initially looking at £150 Vivienne of Holloway dresses, I couldn't justify it.

Before we left the store she'd knocked the price down from £1200 to £1000. She then proceeded to call me every single day to give me different offers and ways to pay - going down to £850 if I put 30% deposit down. I explained to her that I wasn't even getting married until 2013 and didn't want to have to make such a big decision so soon - she then started to tell me the dress was likely to be taken off the shelves soon but she'd already told me it was one of their most popular dresses so why would they stop selling it?!

After searching on Ebay I found an exact replica from a company in the Uk (who also have a normal website that has SO many beautiful replicas of designer dresses!) for £200 (which I have no managed to get down to £160!!!

I think it's a great place to go and try dresses and to get a feel of style but I would be clear with them that YOU will be in touch with THEM once you've made a decision - and maybe don't show yourself to be so keen on any of the dresss as they will go out of their way to sell it to you!

    xxx

Hi Charlee I got my dress from Berketex and have had nothing but first class service so far. Every appointment I have been to the ladies have made me feel comfortable and at ease and didn't hard sell, but did sell the advantages of buying the dress with them to me - (there is a big difference between the two!) I got a brilliant discount off my gown and I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for! Especially with wedding gowns. Other stores I went to had dresses that were almost as beautiful for a lot less, but the quality of the gown was no way near as good and with Berketex you can tell a lot of work goes into the dress! I'm sure you'll have a fab experience, if you read a bad review you'll go there with a hopeless attitude and not enjoy it as much Smiley smile so my best advice is to be positive and look forward to trying on wedding dresses because its the best part of wedding planning! ?

I went to the berketex in worcester and they would let me have a look around but wouldnt let me try on until after i had booked my venue, even though i said it was almost decided. just in case i chose a dress that didnt suit the venue, its my decision at the end of the day what dress i want! i can see what they meant, but custom is custom! especially when they obviously needed it because they closed down 3 weeks later!
