Jesus, I just wrote you an essay!! Missed council tax though! RBWM is ok for council tax, but you're not really looking that area. Most of the areas you mention fall under Bracknell Forest. I pay £1070 a year (so for 10 months we pay £107 then get two months off) for our 2 bed flat which I think is pretty reasonable.

Owlsmoor is ok! My perception of it is that is a bit in the middle of nowhere though as it's not quite in Sandhurst and not quite Crowthorne or Bracknell either. It would be worth investigating if there are any local shops or if your nearest would be the little high street in Sandhurst.

From your map you are leaking into Hampshire a wee bit. I grew up in Aldershot and went to school in Farnborough so I know the area a little. I havent lived there for 10 mind but my mum lives in a little village between Fleet and Hartley Witney!

Gorgeous area, especislly a little more south in Farnham but that is heading further away! great acces to M4 and great train lines to London!

I know a friend who grew up in Finchampstead, we went to chool together in farnborough and before that i know she (as many in my school did) go to Yately Manor School.

All I know of Sandhurst is the Military achademy as my brothers went. I think friends of my H have moved their recently so i could try and pick their brains if no one on here can help!

Windsor and Maidenhead has the cheapest council tax outside of London apparently or so they told me when I lived there!!!

I live in central Bracknell and it's ok. Great Hollands used to be considered the rough area but it's supposedly not too bad now. I used to live in Wooden Hill which is near Great Hollands but 'posher' and that's a nice area.

Most areas of Bracknell are fine, but nothing special. Jennetts Park is a new area that seems to be rather nice though.

I would say that Bracknell is an ok place to live, it's not unpleasant or dangerous, but there are better places.

We need to be below the M4 really for both our jobs but I'm sure Cricks would share her bridge ?
