Best colour theme for a study

Specialkat, 17 February, 2009 at 19:03 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Hiya gang

I am currently planning to redec my spare room to make it a learner friendly study!! Can you recommend any colour schemes/layout to help?

The size is approx 9'x9' and it has the grand old contents of one desk. I am thinking about a easy chair as my studies involve lots of reading.

What do you have in your study and what are your colour schemes?

Thanks for helping to inspire me!

In our study we have two desks (his and hers ?), lots of bookcases, a futon (which is our spare bed, although we had an easy chair in before that), filing cabinet and a set of drawers for storage. The walls are a pale green and the carpet is a redish brown/sandy berber type. We have brown curtains up and also blinds (so we can cut out the sun without making it seem the middle of the night).

My study is quite big - 4m by 4m but has got 6 book shelves in it to fit all my books and folders. Also got one desk; two filing cabinets and a computer table. Its pretty full depsite its size. The walls are painted very light purple with wooden floor and wooden blinds.

Hiya, hope all is going well with you ?

We've got one desk and 2 filing cabinets plus a bookcase in our study at the moment, but it's quite nice as they're all made of a light coloured wood and match each other. The walls are a pale lemony colour with lilac curtains and a lilac roller blind. It's quite a small room but we've got some nice piccies up and some recessed spotlights which are on a dimmer so it's quite a nice place to be. ?

My study / craft room is in the attic and is about 14'x11' its painted white (ceiling) pale grey and aqua (walls) and the beams are blue. Its quite tranquil. I have a pale biscuity coloured carpet with a small blue fleck in it on the floor. 2 large desks, 2 chairs and about 6 low level shelving units with all my craft stuff neatly organised in whicker baskets.

    Its my haven of peace!

My study has 3 walls cream and one wall a sand sort of colour, because I find these restful colours. My library is almost exactly the same but the sand colour is more verging on gold/mustard. Both rooms have pale wood floors.
