Best foundation

Cheeky Chops, 2 January, 2009 at 10:37 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 12

Ok girls, I am looking to get a new foundation. I used to use Clarins light touch which I liked and have recently tried other brands such as Loreal etc.

I am looking for a really good foundation. I am willing to spend; i have dry sometimes sensitive skin with a few blemishes - any ideas?

I heard Chanel do a good one or perhaps Mac?

Thanks for your help.

Depends on what brands you can get to, here are a few I think are great:

Laura Mercier (I'm using their mineral foundation now, it's brilliant)

    Bobby Brown

    Giorgio Armani

    Becca

I don't get on with MAC foundations but I know that many people rate them highly.

    Clinique is not bad either.

You name it I have used it both personally and with work. ?

I can recommend Mac, Virgin Vie and I.D Minerals, but it does depend on your skin type.

I swear by https://www.bareminerals.com/ they have great coverage without the look of being caked. They also do a nice product called Pure Radiance which gives a nice glow again without looking like you have been at the bronzing balls.

For Blemishes ID have a product called Bisque, which is a power concealer and its amazing. I had a really nasty red spot the other day and it toally hid it ? It's not that cheap but worth the money as it does last a while and have been told is better for your skin as it has zinc and SPF 20.

I use L'Oreal True Match Minerals. It is the only foundation that I buy again and again. I think I first tried it May 2007 and haven't used anything else since. I'd probably try another mineral foundation, but don't think I'd go back to liquid foundation again as this one suits my skin so much better, although I do you Max Factor lasting finish but as a concealer rather than a foundation. I have combination skin with blemishes.

L'oreal Colour Match powder and No 7 intelligent colour foundation are fab. Feels very light on your face but lasts for ages and looks like you have a slight glow from the sun!

I bought Bare Minerals a couple of months ago - it takes a few minutes to put on but the results are great.

Perscriptives traceless is a light foundation that will disguise blemishes rather than cover ( which looks far better!). Perscriptives can also blend you an excat match foundation, if you use self tanner etc, bare this in mind. Laura Mercier have fab concealers, not tried the foundation though.

I also use Clarins almost make-up in the summer months...good over a daily tanning moisturiser.

Sorry, I can't remember the exact name, but I have the exact same skin as you and I use the new clinique one. It is in a small bottle and it melts onto your skin. I think mine is medium coverage, but it doesn't feel heavy at all. In fact, it doesn't feel like I'm wearing it, which is good for me. I recommend going to a few makeup counters and asking for some samples. I got a lot of samples just by asking.

I also love Estee Lauder Double Wear. It has good coverage and I use a light coloured one (shell) which suits my skin tone.

My favourite is MaxFactor Miracle Touch. Good coverage and no problems with my eczema.

I find No 7 Protect and Perfect foundation is fantastic. A little goes a long way, it blends easily and lasts all day.
