Big Glass Jar Shopping!

lamby, 18 September, 2009 at 16:52 Posted on Planning 0 7

Howdi. Has anyone come across any reasonable priced big glass jars for filling with sweeties to use as an alternate to flower centrepieces? Sorry if this thread has been on recently - I can't seem to find any advice on it but know there must be lots of knowledge here! I've had a look on ebay but was surprised how expensive they are - around £25-£30 and we'll need 10. I'm trying to avoid ordering from confetti etc as there seems to be a premium when buying direct from a wedding place! on that note, where have people been buying the sweets from? I was thinking of maybe joining costco or some place?! Thank you muchly :o) x

To add to Ikea pop into TK Max if you have one - I saw some really cheep ones there -problem is its usually one of each and not reliable so you have to buy them when you see them.

Also M&S have some new glass wear (don't recall the price on the larger items though, it could have been 15-20 squids)

I guess you could also use them as candle holders? are they screw top or flat rimmed?

    Heya,

Look what I stumbled accross....Not sure what style you're really looking for, these ones have clasp tops. Which I think would be great as sweet jars but maybe not fancy enough to be centre pieces? iykwim?! I'll let you decide.....

The IKEA jars are flat rimmed.

That is a great price for Kilner jars I will have to get myself to Sainsburys!
